2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumValerie Plame Wilson says she'd campaign for Hillary, a person who could "walk through fire."
Surprised and bemused by a call from someone in the Trump camp to endorse the Donald, Valerie Plame says NO.
But, if asked, she'll campaign for Hillary.

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton is more to Plame Wilsons liking and, if asked, she and her husband would serve as surrogate speakers on the campaign trail for the former secretary of state, she said.
Plame Wilson described Clinton as someone who could walk through fire.
As a CIA operative, Plame Wilson worked against nuclear proliferation. In her private life, she continues to be active in efforts to eliminate such weapons. A recent viral video in which she appeared has been viewed more than 2.5 million times, she said.
While she understands that many are drawn to the Trump campaign because of his blunt style, Plame Wilson said she believes that could eventually spell doom for the campaign.

(30,481 posts)That is all one needs to know about how little concern some have for progress over cult of personality. One of the top leaders on progressive immigration reform, and one of the best friends to the oppressed, had opposition research done on him here at du. His crime, a lighthearted jab at Sanders. It's becoming more and more clear they are in it to win at all costs, including standing in direct opposition to this countries greatest progressive voices. I think there just pissed that after months of running for President Gutierrez has about the same name recognition.

(114,904 posts)I have no problem with Plame endorsing Hillary or acting as a surrogate and stumping for her. What Gutierrez did was contemptible and as dishonest as it gets. And it's amusing that you're touting him as a progressive lion. In many ways, he's far from it, and he sure has no problem attacking a fellow progressive in a despicable manner. As for the idiotic and hollow claim of cult of personality, sorry chum, but that's as much crap as Gutierrez' suggesting that Sanders' doesn't like immigrants.

(30,481 posts)Opposition research against one of our best and loudest voices on progressive immigration reform. Why don't you stop being so passive aggressive with the chum crap. you did opposition research on one of progressives strongest voices on immigration reform. He often spends his days at venues helping the oppressed manage their way through our severely flawed system. He is who I am aligned with. The communities he represents are who I am aligned with. I have zero respect for anyone doing opposition research on him.

(11,641 posts)I do congratulate Hillary for picking up an endorsement from a person I respect and admire for her vocal support of President Obama's Iran deal among other things.
I consider it an important endorsement and one that hopefully Democrats will respect regardless of their preference of candidate in the 2016 presidential primaries.
For what it's worth I also would prefer Hillary over Joe if he jumps in. I realize that may not be much consolation but I mention it anyways.....

After that we're going to have a late lunch out on the lake. God I love weekends here in the mountains. The boat's gased and polished.
Oops gotta run. Breakfast burritos. My Wife makes bomb breakfast burritos.
Enjoy your day. Sorry about the speed bump. Hopefully it's the worst thing that happens to you today.

I have great admiration for her and her husband.
