2016 Postmortem

Just saw Rachel talking about Jim Webb, and it seems like a guy who would make a great Vice President, or a good President, from what she said about him.
Her show is repeated at midnight...
But in spite of what she said, all I remember is that somebody or nother said they would NEVER vote for James Webb.
How come?

(21,717 posts)He was a republican until W. And he hated the Iraq war so much, he changed parties and ran as a dem. It was the right thing for him to do at that time. But he was part of Raygun's cabinet. And a lot of his views are still supply side sh*t.

(9,688 posts)I think that Pres. Obama's Iran negotiations and the deal itself are an extraordinary triumph of diplomacy over war, against tremendous odds. THEY COULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED WITH HILLARY CLINTON AS SOS.
I liked Rachel during her Air America days, but it turns out that was just based on a shared enemy, the Republicans under *. At first, on transitioning to MSNBC, her show was edgy with great guests from across the leftist spectrum and I got to see a lot of interesting people saying interesting things. But she started cutting out those who were too critical of the Dem admin.
It got boring as it turned out that she was incapable of criticizing "the establishment", the "center", as defined by her employer. I stopped watching entirely after she started doing stunts with Richard Engel, that totally bought out hack, that "msnbc military correspondent".
She likes "horserace politics", and that's what her employer wants as well.
