Related: About this forumTips on Deleting Emails From Email Book Hillary Clinton Wanted to Read
Clinton has not said why she requested the book, but it includes some advice that is particularly interesting in light of the controversy over her unconventional email arrangement at the State Department and her decision to delete tens of thousands of emails she deemed to be purely personal.
The copy that ABC downloaded for $9.99 had some interesting revelations.
Take, for example, Chapter Six: The Email That Can Land You In Jail. The chapter includes a section entitled How to Delete Something So It Stays Deleted.

Just more irrelevant, meaningless fluff, of course.

(10,007 posts)probably because they want to get better at using email for professional purposes. To suggest that Hillary ordered this book specifically to help her thwart the law is a stretch.
So much of a stretch that assholes like Breitbart are pushing it:

Look - I've been critical of Hillary's use of a private server from an information security perspective, and consider it to have been a serious failure in judgement - but I can't go so far as to suggest that ordering this book is part of a nefarious plot.

Poster above notes you are cribbing from the likes of Breitbart. You know where that leads, right?

(13,340 posts)Why the hell would anyone want a book on managing email better if they are getting something like 10,000 emails a year!?
IN fact, I may get that book. My work email inbox is off the hook, and I get about half the number of emails Clinton did.

(2,620 posts)Consider too that she has "people" who are taking care of her IT. If she is getting into the nuts & bolts of data security, that is not "normal" behavior - IMHO.

(13,340 posts)First, that's not what the whole book is about.
And second, if I were SoS, I'd probably want to ensure that if I deleted mails for whatever reason, they'd stay deleted. But deleting one's own mail isn't enough to ensure any embarrassing emails wouldn't be seen..... typically they are on someone else's server as well.

(7,014 posts)Mailboxes get full. You can't just delete your inbox if you want to free up space. You have to also delete your sent items. Then after you are done deleting your folders, you then have to delete the deleted items folder.
Full mailboxes can inhibit your ability to send and receive email, let alone any attachments. Sorry Johnno...

(2,620 posts)deleting - drive scrubbing etc. If this is the case it is not just your run of the mill "I'm cleaning up my stuff".
And like I said if she was merely interested is security, she would have directed her IT guys to make sure that the stuff she wanted deleted - was really deleted. She wouldn't be looking to do it herself - IMHO...

(2,620 posts)- it's moronic to believe that she wanted to delete emails?
- it's moronic to believe she has no tech people?
- it's moronic to believe that she bought the book?

Hillary Clinton is too conservative for me. However, Right wing smears are best left to the right-wing liars.
Attack her for her policies. Let Breitbart have the Benghazi spin-offs.
