Only 417 D votes cast so far at the Iowa State Fair

This is probably a very informal thing, so I'm taking it with a 'grain of salt'.

Still, it's kind of fun to check in every once in awhile since it seems to update about every 10 or 15 minutes. Plus, the R numbers are there too.

(Sorry about the format)

D Lincoln Chafee 7 1.68%
D Hillary Clinton 181 43.41%
D Martin O'Malley 20 4.80%
D Bernie Sanders 205 49.16%
D Jim Webb 4 0.96%

D Total Votes 417

Does anyone know if this is a regular Iowa Fair tradition for Presidential primaries?

Btw- It would be interesting to know if someone is checking to make sure that these people are registered Iowa voters.

Edit: Or at the very least, Iowa residents of voting age...

I thought I saw something on TV about that. Maybe I'm wrong. If so not very scientific.

but it will create news and blather for the next 2 news cycles.

Myself will just watch it, but I predict a lot of TUMMS in certain places though. It is usually discounted officially, but leads to changes in how campaigns are run. Some of those are really subtle. Sometimes candidates do drop out after this though, so the culling of the field, mostly on the R side, might begin, Pataki, Perry, Gilmore and one more are the obvious ones, Perry in particular since he is having trouble raising any cash.

Bernie is winner among dems there.

among Republicans there trump and carson are winners.intresting that walker is so behind them.you have to laugh at how badly
jeb is doing there.even among republicans there doesn't seem to be a lot of excitement for another Bush.

Compare those results with the recent polls: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/ia/iowa_republican_presidential_caucus-3194.html

Trump and Carson are 1 and 2 respectively, with Walker/Fiorina/Cruz/Rubio/Bush forming a second tier in some order a few points back.

So, I guess it would have been more accurate to say that I take this poll as perhaps having a kernel of truth to it?

Cute idea, though!

D Martin O'Malley 25 3.99%

D Bernie Sanders 334 53.35%

I guess those damn Bernie Bass turds have been through ten or twenty times, because he should only have about 10 %

isn't trying to make a story outta this. Hell, thats also probably why she didn't try to win it, as Clinton-haters would try to accuse her of multi-voting.

In addition, this was not exactly a textbook case of American democracy in action. It cost $35 to cast a vote, and most of the campaigns picked up the cost of the voting tickets. Mr. Romney dispatched a fleet of buses to bring in his supporters.
