On edit:
One more time ~ The event that activists in Seattle shut down on August 8, 2015 was not a Bernie Sanders event. It was an even sponsored by SOCIAL SECURITY WORKS. Senator Sanders was invited to speak at the event by Social Security Works. The event the activists shut down was a rally sponsored by Social Security Works and was organized to help protect Social Security and Medicare.
The facts are right here:
We are very excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid and the 80th anniversary of Social Security, said Robby Stern of Social Security Works Washington, which is organizing the Aug. 8 event, and President of the Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action. We are particularly honored to welcome Senator Bernie Sanders, one of the national advocacy leaders for strengthening and expanding these three critical programs.
It will be Sanders first visit to Washington state since announcing his candidacy for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 presidential election.
SocSec-anniversary-15Aug08The Social Security & Medicare Celebration will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Westlake Plaza, 400 Pine St. in downtown Seattle.

(I will repeat my comment that Sanders had every right to speak without being interrupted; that said, this is the major leagues, and handling the unexpected is part of the job.)

(27,670 posts)It was a Social Security Works event, at which Senator Sanders was invited to speak.
After the interruption by the activists, Senator Sanders yielded the microphone to someone involved with the Social Security Works organization. This person, who had authority to determine what was the best course of further action for the event, may have decided that it would be in the best interests of the Social Security Works, to not allow the Social Security Works event to be used as a political football by a group that had an unknown alternative political or social agenda.
Senator Sanders simply stopped speaking, and went off into the crowd to personally interact with the people attending the Social Security Works event.
If anything, his actions were appropriate, and commendable, under the circumstances.
You can see it for yourself in the video posted below. Should we believe what we see, or what you, and many Clinton supporters, tell us?
I will not be responding to any strawman posts, and am putting you back on ignore.
Have a nice day.

(94,571 posts)My question is why the Sanders supporters seem so sensitive that it happened, and seem to be blaming the Clinton supporters:
