The IA State Fair poll is just for fun - it's not a real poll. (I'm a Sanders supporter, btw)

It's a hook to draw people to the IA SoS's booth at the fair.

“We hope the Straw Poll will draw people to our booth, where Iowans can also register to vote,” Secretary Pate said. “Increasing voter participation is one of the primary functions of my office. I want all eligible Iowans to fulfill their civic duty and exercise their right to vote.

The poll is pretty meaningless, but it's fun that lots of fair-goers voted for Bernie.

I do like that regular Iowans are showing they support Bernie. cyberswede Aug 2015 #2
Or non-voters, or unregistered people, or people not old enough to vote, OR out of state visitors? George II Aug 2015 #16
Sure. Like I said, it's just for fun. cyberswede Aug 2015 #19

"requirement" is your word. Mine is "observation". L0oniX Aug 2015 #6
Your word is also "never" - which isn't actually true. cyberswede Aug 2015 #7
Sorry about the "never". Should have said never out of 315 posts over 90 days. L0oniX Aug 2015 #8

it's being reported on and pundits are using it as more of a bellwether than an actual poll.

The support that Bernie has gotten on the ground, at the fair and in this poll shows that the Bernie surge has not ended, despite Nate Silver's reporting of its early demise.

And the poll's "informalness" could mean regular voters are participating (rather than the real polls of "likely caucus goers" we usually see this time of year).

Good to get folks to register--- of all stripes.

No matter. I don't post often in the Bernie group, because though I read there, I rarely have anything to add.

If your "observation" is meant to imply I'm not a supporter, you go on with your bad self.

I would add that there have been others that said they were for Bernie and then came out saying they are now for Hillary.

He is now banned, by the way.

You can see for yourself, just search for the thread on the problem with Hillary.

And my point is that it is not the modus operandi of either candidate's supporters. People who do that are just trolls.

My highest post count in any group is 9 in the last 90 days, so it's pretty clear I rarely post in groups.

I don't post in Cooking & Baking, either, but I think it's also pretty clear that I eat food that is cooked or baked.

Does that mean I am secretly for Bernie?

That is just a really weird thing to focus on, in my opinion. A rather large number of people stay on the forums and avoid the groups.
