According to one of the lead headlines on the Drudge Report: "83% OF DOCTORS 'HAVE CONSIDERED QUITTING' OVER OBAMACARE." As we all know, Matt doesn't expect his fans to actually click the links and read the stories on his site, in part because the town reader where most of them live doesn't have the time. And in order to save you some time here is a little background on the source for the story: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Doctor_Patient_Medical_Association

(25,699 posts)A little time with the study and a calculator, and I got this...
If you look at the study, you find that the DPMA attempted to contact 36,000 doctors via fax. Of those, less than half (16,227, or 45%) were successfully delivered. Of those, only 699 (4%) responded. and of those, 83% said they had thought about quitting - and those 580.17 (my guess is the 0.17 guy is a brain in a jar, because it's funnier than "they rounded down" a variety of reasons are cited for their thoughts of quitting. The results of those reasons are a little skewed, given that the doctors were asked to "pick three reasons"
So the actual numbers are that out of the 36,000 doctors the DPMA tried to contact, 1.6% are considering quitting, and they have an assortment of reasons.
While we're looking at numbers, I just want you all to consider; 36,000 is three thousand LESS than the number of active physicians within 30 miles of New York City alone. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are ~2,425,500 doctors active in the US as of last month (and fourteen million health care workers total - nurses, EMT's, home services etc). These numbers - both physicians and health care providers in general - have been steadily INCREASING since 2002.
And then the study extrapolates this to say we will be suffering a shortage of 90,000 doctors in eight years. 130,000 in thirteen years.
The people who buy this schlock are idiots, and need to be locked away for their own safety.
