Bill Clinton stumped for him.

Now, it’s time for Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to return the favor.

Connecticut’s top office holder is being deployed Monday to New Hampshire by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, which is trying to persuade progressives in the Granite State that the former secretary of state shares their populist agenda and is more electable than hard-charging Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Malloy is scheduled to meet with Democratic primary voters at a open house event in Amherst, N.H., and will then drop by at a phone bank at Clinton’s Nashua, N.H., campaign office.

“The governor believes that this election is too important for the residents of Connecticut to just stand by, which is why he made his endorsement in June bringing volunteers together from around the state in support of Secretary Clinton,” said Michael Mandell, executive director of the Connecticut Democrats................

Brings progressive balance to a Clinton ticket. He won't add any states, but he brings balance. Malloy should be the key Clinton surrogate in NH.

Certainly no progressives.

I'm just happy the CTGOP is basically non-functional; if they'd nominated anybody but Foley, we'd have a Republican governor right now.

Surprised the Rs nominated Foley. He's worse than Malloy, imo, but I agree, if the Rs ran someone else, I think the Rs might have won.

He's socially-liberal but on fiscal matters he's not only conservative and technocratic, he's a failed union-buster and pension-taker who is extremely-cozy with banking and insurance industry lobbyists. His latest state budget got criticism from both parties in the legislature because it was special-interests-heavy and cut spending just about everywhere else.

He's not balance for Hillary...positionally, he's basically her evil twin. Every criticism of Hillary I have as a progressive extends to a greater degree to Malloy.

(Nominating him for VP might be the only thing that could get me to vote for Hillary. All politics is local and thus it benefits me more to get rid of him (to Washington) than my disdain for the Clintons benefits me.)

Malloy understands the importance of this election. Hillary is building a solid core of current and past elected Democratic officials. Meanwhile, over at the GOP, they are still trying to figure out how to muzzle The Hair.
