A majority of Americans and a majority of gun owners support universal background checks.

It makes no sense that bipartisan legislation supporting universal background checks failed despite overwhelming support from the public.

Politics are hard. But when it comes to gun violence, we cannot give up. We cannot sit by while more good people die. We must keep going.

(30,058 posts)From sensible gun owners who practice good gun safety, it is to protect innocent people from getting killed, make our cities, etc safer, allow us to go shopping, to theaters, schools, churches, hospitals and other places we should have the freedom to go. When well over a majority wants sensible gun laws, Congress should be willing to act properly.

(23,664 posts)in her hot little hand, she'll shift into general election mode where she will need the votes of moderate and independent voters, many of whom are defintitely opposed to the things she appears to be advocating now. And when she does she will revert to 2008 Hillary.
Personally I disagree with all of her current pronouncements except for expanded background checks, but I'm pretty sure she'll drop all that like a hot potato when she goes after the votes of "hard working Americans, white Americans".
If I agreed with everything she said, I would still oppose her because I have serious questions about her veracity.
