O'Malley: "Silence and complacency in the face of hate is not an honorable option for the Dem party"

The Mighty Brennan ‏@Brennanator
I've been uninspired on the Dem race, but that @MartinOMalley speech was something. Called Trump "a hate-spewing carnival barker." Love it.

Jack Highberger ‏@JackHighberger
@MartinOMalley calls #Trump remarks racist. "Not speaking out is to be complicit."

Yes, @realDonaldTrump has built his bid on making disgusting attacks. His attack against Huma Abedin is vile sexist & crosses every line

Lis Smith ‏@Lis_Smith
If @realDonaldTrump wants to show how tough he is, he should pick on someone his own size & not make personal attacks against female staffers

the sexism in the following: "If @realDonaldTrump wants to show how tough he is, he should pick on someone his own size & not make personal attacks against female staffers"

That suggests women can't stand up for themselves and that size equals superiority. It's important, when rightfully denouncing Trump and those who cheer him on, that we not contribute to the very things for which Trump is being criticized.

11. I actually don't think this refers to his actual size or anything like that

...but rather his station. Rich megalomaniac launching broadsides against a female staffer. He has all of the resource to defend himself in this campaign, but railing against this Clinton staffer is a cheap and heavy-handed attack.

It might be macho talk, or it may be like you describe. Of course, one's station doesn't make one better either.

But, if it had been a male staffer, would "male staffer" have been used? Or would it have just been "staffer?" Or would it have not even gotten mention?
