Source: The Hill
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is faltering in her bid for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, a new national poll of Democratic-leaning voters shows.
Clinton's support has fallen 21 points since July, from 63 to 42 percent, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll released Monday, dropping below 50 percent for the first time.
Support for Clinton has particularly eroded among women, an integral demographic for her campaign, falling from 71 percent two months ago to 42 percent now.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who gained 10 percentage points since July, now stands at 24 percent support in the poll, while Vice President Joe Biden has gained 9 points amid increasing interest in a potential White House bid, putting him at 21 percent now.

What I think is wrong is they are all old pros, been there done this too many times. She thinks that is experience, but what she needs are new faces and new blood, someone pumped up with excitement to put their candidate across the line and into the Presidency for their first time. What a rush. You can't buy that kind of thing with salaries.

(1,810 posts)The negative of that is we see posts like the one you are replying to that shows they aren't knowledgeable about that to which they are speaking. In the end it will be good news. A small number of these political neophytes will stick around as they will like the partys platform. In ten years they will have a much better understanding and realize emotion doesn't run the game. Treat them with kid gloves.
Elmer S. E. Dump
(5,751 posts)Why don't you start a poll and see who really has the most knowledgeable posters. Hillary posters would lose big-time, since they seem convinced that Hillary is best for our country. We Bernie supporters vehemently disagree.

(1,810 posts)I get that you think you are, but you aren't the only one with knowledge and experience. Based off you seriously flawed assumptions, you might want to rethink touting those credentials. Assumptions as you are doing here are the easiest of things to do. They are not borne out of great experience as you like to portray. They are the simple way to go.

(17,599 posts)with this technique, even trump could crush her. at least he engages directly with the voters.
I don't understand her - she was the clear front runner, but she continues to be distant, elite, and too quiet - making rookie mistakes.
I HOPE she can turn this around - I think she would be a fantastic President and it would be great to have the Big Guy Bill back again.
Please Hillary - become more relatable and visible. We need you.

(26,549 posts)The campaign is being run as if a minor gaffe is the worst possible thing that could ever happen. So Clinton comes off as stilted because she's more-or-less reading a focus-group derived script instead of being herself.
Interacting directly with the public en-masse is a risk. The campaign appears to not be willing to take that risk.

(20,176 posts)The same problems apply to prevent defenses in both cases. You give up a lot of little losses to prevent the knockout blow...but if the clock has too much time on it when you start, you just lose by a series of small increments instead of one big one.
Since I disdain the Clintons, I hope they keep this up right until it costs Hillary the nomination.

(33,688 posts)far more often than not. Any football coach can tell you that much.
Absolutely nothing has been learned from '08 by the campaign staff and, I suspect, the candidate. She has always run as if she were a rather entitled incumbent. BAD move.
