I REALLY want to see this! Going into the belly of the beast.

And for the inevitable, "Bernie Sanders supporters would howl if Hillary Clinton went to Liberty University!" I want to say, yes probably so. Because Hillary would go to pander to the anti-LGBT "faith-based" crowd wherein Sanders will have exactly the same message that he's had for all other crowds he's spoken to. In other words, no pandering. THAT is the difference.

They are playing a clip of an interview with a former GOPer that use to attend Liberty University but will cut to a live feed from a local TV station once Bernie starts speaking.

I'm anxious see how well he's received.

Could do without that music, but it is a Christian University so I'll suffer through.

But highly stage-managed Christian performances by right-wing fundamentalists have never set well with me, since Pat Robertson and Falwell began aggressively slick-i-fying generations of evangelical Christians so they could infiltrate the mainstream press, courts, etc.

Give me raw rural churches any day.

similarities.

I love this context: morality, justice.

"There is no justice when so few have so much and so many have so little. There is no justice when the top 1/10th of 1 percent owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent. You will, in your hearts, have to determine the morality of that and the justice of that."

It was quite a watch! Hard to know if he changed any of the minds of the "hard core" but not all there are the Rabid RW Evangelicals.

From reading about the School it now allows some differing viewpoints and more diversity of students since Jerry Falwell died. His son expanded the the diversity because the school was ready to go bankrupt and now its doing very well.

Bernie has to be an eye opener for many of those students....they probably never saw a politician like him before.

Too many of them have been taught they are on their own in this life, it's just them and their families against the world.

The idea of participating in a democratically-elected government as if a member of a larger family is totally foreign to them, mainly because it's not in the Bible. We need a way of reaching out to them that makes them see government as not some sort of alien "give to Caesar" kind of thing, but as something we are all active participants in now.
