"I pray, Father, at this very moment, that he would know that he has made friends today."

Bernie Sanders' speech at Liberty University yesterday morning was a wonderful look at the sincerity, authenticity and courage of this man, as he ventured into the midst of many people who do not agree with him.

His entire speech is one for the ages, in offering his hand in bridging the divide in our country.

He sat for questions afterward, and gave heartfelt and honest responses.

There should not have been a single person in the room who could not see the authenticity of Bernie Sanders.

I wanted to share a portion of the final prayer that was given by David Nasser, as he sat with Senator Sanders at the end of the event. (Nasser is Liberty University's Senior VP for Spiritual Development.)

The following is my own transcription, beginning at 1:04:20.

NASSER:

........

We love you, Lord. Thank you for this opportunity to come together. I pray, Father, for this man. I pray for his family. I pray for his team. Give them a sustainable pace, God, as they are on the road.

I pray, Father, at this very moment, that he would know that he has made friends today.

That he has come into an environment where people show grace, show appreciation and show humility, Father, and that also gratitude is in our hearts that he would take the time out of his schedule to come.

So, just bless him in this season.

We are all united in this prayer.

That just doesn't sound right that the VP of spiritual development at LU would be jewish.

He's a convert to Christianity from Islam after he and his parents fled into exile from Iran in advance of the revolution.

is hope for everyone. That is why this man will win. I get premonitions on big things ... my parents deaths for one and this feels like that kind of certainty. Bernie Sanders is going to be President.
