http://ringoffireradio.com/2015/09/biden-to-join-presidential-race-soon-announcement-coming/Joe Bidens aides have begun calling Democratic donors and supporters to suggests he is about to enter the 2016 race. They are talking about the timing of an announcement, reported the Wall Street Journal. Biden plans on making the announcement in time to be part of the October 13 Democratic debates, and to immediately begin the fundraising process.
Biden has been hesitant to join the race because of the emotional toll it takes, and he is still coping with the recent death of his son Beau. However, with Hillary Clintons polling numbers dropping like a sinking ship, he feels he has a significant opportunity to become President, and this was a dying a wish of Beau.
How Bidens entry into the race will impact Bernie Sanders is unclear at this point. Bernie has been surging against Hillary over the past three months, and is significantly ahead of her in New Hampshire and Iowa, according to recent polling. However, his entry will certainly lead to much greater media focus on the Democratic race, and likely will force the DNC to hold more debates, all of which would be a very positive thing.

Hey, it's a free country and Biden is welcome. But he's wasting his time. Bernie is going all the way.

(41,600 posts)a scandal soon to be announced, that Hillary won't survive. Hence, anybody but Bernie Biden entering the race at this very late date.

(13,685 posts)It means the establishment has serious doubts about Hillary.
The Bern's numbers are growing everyday. So this tells us that the establishment is quite aware of what's hapening.

I doubt he will run, but I bet he loves seeing his name in the press.
You can bet the number crunchers are working overtime looking for some path to a win. Obvious they've not found one yet.

(5,066 posts)No spin around it.Biden wouldn't run if he thought he didn't have a chance to run. Some of Establishment had to encourage him.
Back In 2006/2007 some who claimed to support hilary encourged Obama.
The Last Thing Establishment wants is Bernie.Biden Is just as much tied to wall street as she Is.Biden can come off as less of a phony as she is.Biden isn't as much as a war monger as she is.Biden actully advised Obama to pull out of afghanstain except for small training forces but those like Hilary who wanted more troops won.
I could maybe hold my noise In GE and vote Biden If Bernie doesn't win nomination which i could never do for her.
Biden gives people not familary with bernie but not wild for Hilary another opotion.Webb Isn't serious about running.Chaffe has
no chance. And O'Malley let Bernie get the progressive and ant-hilary voters by waiting so long.
This will become a Hilary,Bernie, and Biden fight for nomination just like in lead up to 2008 it was a hilary,Obama, and Edwards fight.

(22,271 posts)the internals have got to be reflecting what actual polls are showing -- that Hillary is tanking and her trajectory is at an irreversibly downward spiral.
Yes, Biden might be more palatable to some but his dirty laundry will come out as well -- his coziness with the credit card companies, his facilitation of the Bankruptcy Bill that made it harder for everyday Americans to declare bankruptcy and, in my opinion, the WORST, was how much help he was to the Republicans in getting Clarence Thomas onto the Bench. I'll scream that one to the highest heavens on every social media site I can get my hands on to remind people of his hand in that debacle.
So, let the Vichy Dems fight it out for the Blind Party Loyalist vote, I'm good with that. Meanwhile, Sanders can continue bringing in the MILLIONS of disaffected voters, including disillusioned Democratic voters out there that, until now, didn't have anybody to vote for save the "I'm not the other guy" candidate.
This is going to be a VERY interesting election year.

(5,066 posts)Bankruptcy Bill is number 1.He also wrote the Clinton Crime Bill of 1990's.Clarence Thomas hearings are also an issue.Biden has to deal with TPP as obama's VP too.
The establishment doesn't want Bernie so now that Hilary has troubles, and yes she does have troubles, they would rather have
Biden In race and in office than Bernie.

Vice President Joe Biden says that he is still weighing a 2016 presidential bid but that he "may not get there in time" to mount a feasible run.
In an interview with Catholic organization America Media, Biden said that he needs to be "comfortable that this will be good for the family."
"We're just not - it's not quite there yet and it may not get there in time to make it feasible to be able to run and succeed because there are certain windows that will close," he said. "But if that's it, that's it. But it's not like I could rush it."
The vice president acknowledged that his continued mulling of a bid may be confusing to those seeking a definitive answer on his intentions.
