(2,161 posts)Mr. Clinton likened the current inquiries into Mrs. Clintons emails to scandals as far back as the Whitewater land deal that plagued his 1992 campaign and the early years of his administration.
This is just something that has been a regular feature of all of our presidential campaigns, except in 2008 for unique reasons, Mr. Clinton said, without elaborating on why he believed President Obama did not face similar Republican-led efforts to derail his candidacy.
It always happens, he added. Were seeing history repeat itself.
Obama got a pass in 2008???
Bill doesn't remember Rev. Wight, Ayers, Muslim, Kenyan, birther smears?
Shaking my head. I'm not a Hillary supporter, but I want her to do her best just in case she's the nominee. Big Dog needs a muzzle.

(23,946 posts)must be silent about smears and propaganda on his spouse? All righty then......
You will have to do better than that because this is still a left wing site last I checked.
And the NYT word used, "blame", gratuitously inserted without consent into President Clinton's mouth, is all you need to know about the NYT's agenda regarding both the Clinton's.
Pointed out is what President Clinton the First did.
Clinton pointed out the propaganda campaign of the GOP the mass media...if they can do the PP smear, they can do other smears as well with the same childish outrage and repetitiveness and the same complete lack of evidence.
I blame the media and the GOP for a lot of things, don't all progressives, or have some forgotten already?
But the thing is when you point out to the media that they, the media, are asshats, who in media will report on that?

(4,229 posts)Lots of other people have used private email and we don't really even know if sensitive info was discovered because the emails were never recovered.
However, it was a huge mistake for Hillary to use a private server for her gov't stuff knowing what we know about how they were going to come at her.
Republicans have congress, they really have a great media apparatus to keep the innuendos coming. I just don't see how she thought it was a good idea.
Now that they can recover stuff off the server even all her personal emails that are none of anybody's business will start being leaked out, any of them that can make her look bad.
Like whitewater they have already expanded the scope of the investigation. It will turn up nothing criminal I figure but the press will continue to ask her questions about this rather than the issues.
It's really sad.

(14,524 posts)... Hillary got advice from the GOP and "the media" about the proper way to handle her Federal Office's email communications and went with it?
Ouch! Wow dude, she really isn't too bright. Don't think I'd have gone that route.
