Bill Clinton says Hillary would be 'great president' despite 'this email thing'

The controversy around Hillary Clinton’s emails has been blown out of proportion, Bill Clinton has said in an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.

CNN released parts of the interview with the former president – who has been referred to as a “secret weapon” for his wife’s campaign – on Saturday. It was scheduled to air on Sunday, and it covered everything from the scandal over Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state to the rise of the Republican presidential frontrunner, Donald Trump.

The surprising part of the interview came when Clinton gave a half-hearted endorsement of his wife while seeming to undermine his own judgment of US politics.

Asked if Trump – who he described as master brander – could be the Republican nominee for president in 2016, Clinton said: “I think so.”

“I think Hillary would be a great president but I have … I have no confidence in my political feel anymore. I’ve been out of it a long time and I’m not mad at anybody. I’m just happy to be here.”

Just so she can be the first woman president? Sheer egotism. Step out of the way and give a viable, non tainted candidate a chance.

a republican surely if her use of a private server for govt business & lack of ability to turn over all emails & the 35 freedom of information act court cases against her & the Clinton Foundation-State Dept collusion bothers you. If a republican had done it & was running for prez, it wouldn't bother -true- Democrats either. pfft. Benghazi!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If his wife had half the political chops of her husband, she would have it in the bag already.

“You can’t complain,” he said. "This is a contact sport. They're not giving the job away."

See, whether or not he really, really, REALLY wants to get back on Air Force One, he knows enough to make it sound like he doesn't give a shit- AND make it sound like he means it.

Whoever the imbeciles in Hillary's campaign are who keep telling her that running on "inevitability" with a side salad of thinly velied desperation is gonna win over the electorate, they need to be fired.
