NH: Hillary Clinton Down to Bernie Sanders by Double Digits

Politics 365: NH: Hillary Clinton Down to Bernie Sanders by Double Digits

Free fall? According to a new poll revealed on Thursday of New Hampshire voters, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) of Vermont is ahead of Hillary Clinton 46 percent to her 30 percent. The poll was conducted by the University of New Hampshire. The pattern appears to be familiar to what happened to Clinton in 2007 when she was overtaken in Iowa by a relatively obscure fairly new Senator from Illinois who would later become President.

Ahead in a neighboring state with a population of less than a million people. Less diverse than most and good name recognition in the region. On to the next 49 with much different demographics.

Last time she lost to a person that was too young, too black, too good looking, and not experienced. This time she is going to lose to someone too old, too ugly, too white, and experienced.

I say in 2024 we let her pick her own opponent(s), it's only fair and probably won't make a difference anyway.

He's gotten so far just speaking his mind. So different than the typical politician.

It'll be the first impression of Bernie for most of America. How will he do? Will his arm-waving ardor show well against a very experienced and more mainstream Democrat like HRC? Having cheered myself, I expect some cheers for some of his passionate statements of position. But what will they make of him overall? He has a real opportunity to spark more widespread interest, or take a quick fade.
