Sunday Night Poll: First hint that Newt's Tea Party diplomacy may be biting (Insider Advantage)

Last edited Mon Jan 30, 2012, 06:21 AM - Edit history (2)

A new InsiderAdvantage poll conducted Sunday night of likely Republican voters in the state of Florida shows a significant surge for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

The Sunday results of 646 likely GOP voters are as follows:

Romney 36 percent
Gingrich 31 percent
Santorum 12 percent
Paul 12 percent
Other/Undecided 9 percent

"The race will be tighter than expected," Matt Towery, chief pollster of InsiderAdvantage told Newsmax.

Insider Advantage says it was the first to pick to swing to Newt in SC, and the first to pick the move back to Romney in FL.

Hey Insider Advantage & News Max, didn't you get the memo. Karl says NO.

Although, I hope this goes as long as possible. In terms of sample size, 646 is small.

It's a valid sample size but has an accordingly large MOE. So it's hard to conclude much.

'Teabaggers give up their last vestige of coherence' should be another great tag line. Family values have been thrown out with the clean bath water, leaving the filthy sheets, the shrill shills, and the bitter pills as it were...

and blame the media and pollsters for his loss. There is no way he is dropping out if that happens. This could go on a long long way. I think Romney will still win but Gingrich could be a thorn in his side all the way to the convention. Lovely!

attacks on him though. I want him to stay in til the bitter
end and bloody Mitt up....but the chorus against Newt
will only grow and grow. You would think, at some point,
despite his egomania, he would cave at the criticism.

Hey, just thought about all the Repukes criticizing anyone
who said Hillary should drop out, remember. Bet they
will be screaming from the rooftops for Newt to go.

P.S. Just rented an apt in Capital Hill for inauguration...totally
optimistic for Obama

He'll claim that he was the only one of could have beaten Obama, and that he did "everything he could" to keep Mitt from being the nominee.

And some on the far right will eat that up, and Newt's speaking fees will increase, which is his main goal.
