Cnn is talking of new Ad by 'Draft Biden movement" in which Joe is talking of accident

in which his wife was killed--Joe had given a speech last May at Yale graduation) in which he talked about it. Cnn saying it is a 90 second ad which is unusual. It is all about his personal life.

Whow. just whow . I do not know what to think of this--to be released just prior to the first debate.

1. How is this different than the TV ad talking about Hillary's mother?

Both ads leave me completely unmoved, as far as who I want to support for president.

As far as I know the Hillary Mother's ad was put out by her campaign-on of the first.

Ads-including political ads are meant to draw one into the product (in this case Joe). Sometimes they work-sometimes they do not.

11. In Hillary's case, she approved those moronic ads.

So far, her ads have focused on her and her life instead of talking about voters and what matters to them. Makes her look really out of touch.

This ad was not put together by Biden and he has no control over what they air. He isn't even a candidate yet.

If I was Biden's PAC, I would have aired an entire ad about the work he did on getting Violence Against Women Act passed. That is a huge accomplishment and can push back on the BS about him not being pro-woman enough that is clearly coming from Hillary's camp.

New TV Ad Urging Joe Biden to Run Recalls 1972 Accident

The group trying to persuade Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. to enter the presidential race is set to broadcast an unusual commercial on national television in which Mr. Biden recounts how his life was shaped by the 1972 car accident that claimed the life of his first wife and their daughter and nearly killed his two sons.

The haunting, mostly black-and-white commercial from the group, Draft Biden, features audio from a speech he gave at Yale University’s commencement in May, just days before his elder son, Beau, died of brain cancer. At a minute and a half, it is longer than most political ads.

There is no direct mention of Beau Biden, but the ad includes an image of the vice president with his older son, wearing his National Guard uniform, while the vice president invokes his own father.

“My dad’s definition of success is when you look at your son or daughter and realize they turned out better than you – and they did,” Mr. Biden says in the commercial, titled “Joe Biden: ‘My Redemption.’ ”..............

Draft Warren and Draft Biden are generally not the same members of the party. This is the real story.

8. i don't know what to think

part of me thinks that Joe is, in his grief, really being manipulated by people around him to get him to run when maybe he doesn't want to. It's hard to imagine that someone who has been through what he just went through is really able to fully think clearly about such a momentous decision. I think he's being exploited by people who have their own agenda as to why they want him to run. That said, he's a very smart guy and I would hope that if he wanted to put this matter to rest, he could do it with a simple "I'm not running leave it alone."

I also think the groups have to be very careful with ads that show too much of someone's personal life, especially if it involves a lot of sadness. It could be seen as exploiting a tragedy for political gain, even if it's meant to just be a personal narrative. It's a very fine line to walk.
