Doorbell rang. Two guys selling solar panels stopped "Because of our Bernie poster".

Had a long talk about Bernie. Real enthusiasm from both of them.

Bottom line: We may get solar installed for free thanks to a limited grant from Warren Buffett.

I guess they don't teach them to look at the roof before they ring the door. 27 panels on my roof.

store workers who asked who he was. I gave her a brief synopsis of the points of his platform I figured most likely would apply to her, and she seemed a bit more interested in him, as well as putting two and two together - that he was the guy 'all of her college friends kept talking about'. I also spotted a Bernie bumper sticker on a car in the parking lot, one that also had a high school 'staff parking pass' in the windshield. So a teacher for Bernie, despite any 'endorsements' from above.

we get a lot of sun here, but our energy providers like to put up all the road blocks they can.

They were at a total loss at to how someone could listen to Limbaugh and not "see the light".

They kept acting like I would eventually wake up and see the error of my ways.

Keep in mind, this was in the 90s when if you said you were a Liberal the reaction was:

great place for solar. I've been told that since my electric bill is fifty dollars or less each month, it wouldn't pay for me to have it.

We never get solar people, and it just wise not to post our beliefs. It's not as if this is a swing state. Lucky you in all respects, Spitfire. Hopefully Buffett's seed money may someday lead to sprouts down here. Our energy cooperative really isn't backwards, just very limited in the kind of change it can effect in this region.
