Related: About this forumCNN's Democratic Debate Draws Fewer Viewers Than Network's GOP Face Off
CNN's second debate on Tuesday night - and the first among the Democratic field - lured 9.2 million viewers, according to preliminary ratings from Nielsen. Those numbers - which are culled from the 25 metered markets measured by Nielsen - will likely rise significantly when final numbers are tallied later today.
But the first Democratic debate is still going to fall short of the network's Republican debate on Sept. 16, which was watched by 23 million viewers when final ratings came in. Last night's debate is down 22 percent among total viewers and 23 percent in the 25-54 demographic compared to the metered market totals of the network's GOP debate.
The disparity is due to a Democratic field that has generated far less excitement among its base than the volatile and much larger GOP field. But there were some memorable moments. As when Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, in an expression of solidarity with front-runner Hillary Clinton, quipped: "The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails."

If you want entertainment, you watch the GOP debates. If you want politics, you watch the dem debates.
I am going to state for the 2nd time this morning how much I hate our media.

I'm sure the game had no effect whatsoever on the debate's viewership.

I wonder what people will be watching that night?

candidates. Wall Street approved candidates.
