Here are the actual results from the CNN focus group last night after the debate.

After asking "who felt Bernie Sanders won this debate" the moderator said "most of you" at first glance, but then Hillary seemed to get a good number of hands raised for her as well. So there has been some debate over whether Sanders won the focus group.

I watched the video of that moment and here is what I found:

There were 20 people in the focus group.

Eight hands definitely raised for Sanders, while four people were clearly flipping their hands as if to say "kind of."

Five hand definitely raised for Clinton, while three people were flipping their hands in a partial vote for her.

All three people who gave Clinton a partial vote also gave a partial vote to Sanders. One woman gave Sanders a partial vote, but didn't give one to Clinton

Three people didn't vote. I think it is safe to assume that they either didn't see a clear winner or that they liked O'Malley the best. I'm not sure what the breakdown is between those two categories, but I am guessing that none saw Webb or Chafee as the winners, since they both did really badly IMO.

3. That is one possible mistake that I am sure I did not make. First, all three were clearly not waving

but were indicating a tepid vote. Second, all three of the people who gave a partial vote for Sanders went on to give the same partial vote to Clinton a moment later.

Still, someone on another thread said that he counted differently, so I am going to count again.

I thought the 'most of you line' was iffy too, although I didn't actually count the numbers of hands.

6. My newest count is 8 Sanders, 5 Clinton, 4 wafflers who voted for both of them.

One of them was barely visible, far left in the back.

That leaves 3 for O'Malley or undecided. (Or in theory I guess they could have liked Chafee or Webb).

8. OK, I updated my count yet again, LOL. My latest count is 8 solid for Sanders, 5 solid for Clinton

4 partial votes for Sanders, 3 partial votes for Clinton. All three Clinton partials gave a partial vote to Sanders, while one person who gave Sanders a partial vote did not give one to Clinton. Three people didn't vote at all.

7. Focus groups can often be dominated by one or two agressive outspoken members.

Perhaps that is what happened last night.

Clearly Hillary won the debate hands down.
