If Hillary Clinton Becomes Next U.S President,

Will Bill Clinton serve as a kind of co-president. If so does it pose a problem regarding the Constitution ?
How will his gravitas influence the Hillary Clinton tenure?
Will he be as influential as she was while First Lady or more, or less ( last possibiliy is the most doubtfull.)

Thank you DUers.

Would you ask the same question if she had been President first?

Why do you assume she 'needs' him to get around?

After all - she ran the White House for 8 years in the 1990's.

If anything - he's a very weak man who needed her LONG before he was President.

If she's the nominee I want Bill to stand there and look Bill-Like. Or, make sure he is following her instructions. He has his foundation to run and golf to play. And he is not to punch Newt Gingrich in the mouth - though I would cheer if he did so. He owes him that for calling his wife a "bitch" all of those years ago. He has it coming.

I just wonder if she would appoint him to a position like U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. It is low enough in the power pyramid not to cause much outrage and you certainly could not question his experience and credentials for the position. He would bring gravitas to the position on those rare instances when it is needed and the symbolism associated with the position would suit him well.

For him to be a successful first man he would have to keep his opinions to himself....and I don't see that happening. Many people who have had extensive heart surgery undergo personality changes. I wish him well but I don't wish him to be speaking from the White House.

..you will understand what I am saying. He is a liability where Hillary is concerned. On reflection my statement was generalized not bigoted. Either way...he has issues. And it is a fact that long surgeries and heart issues can result in personality changes. Been there...seen that!

We know Hillary Clinton was more than a First Lady. I expect Bill to act more than as a First Gentleman.

Probably something like the plight of inner city minorities or perhaps gun control... but without stepping on Hillary's toes. I am sure he will be very careful of that.
