I hope that people who are strong supporters of any candidate

try hard not to get posts hidden on DU. Intemperate posting carries the risk of hidden posts that can lead to a loss of posting privileges on a temporary basis. I won't be alerting on them, and I'll be very careful on juries to not vote to hide posts that are simply overzealous at the time they are written.

But, it's not that difficult to write something that steps over boundaries and gets hidden by a jury. So, please re-read posts before committing them to public view. I truly do not want people to lose their voice on DU, whatever their viewpoint. If you can't post, you lose your ability to state your opinion and try to convince others to share it. That's never a good thing.

Keep your voice alive here, please.

ETA: I edited this OP's title, after being made aware that it appeared to be directed only to supporters of one candidate. That was not my goal. Sorry.

I do not want people to lose their ability to post. I'm being sincere about this. Frankly, we've lost a number of strong voices here lately, due to being timed-out for too many hidden posts. That's never a good thing.

The most recent posts I've noticed being hidden came from Sanders supporters. I'd suggest the same caution to supporters of other candidates, as well, but I'm moved to post by recent hidden posts.

That's news to me.

But as a Hillary Clinton supporter, I will be very careful on juries to not vote to hide posts that add to the discussion even if I don't agree with what's written.

Thanks for the kind advice, MM.

tact, huh, Luca?

What comes next the dead fish in a newspaper or a horse's head in the bed? I mean I know you are "just sayin'" and "mean no disrespect" but you seem so tied into the word on the street with the goodfellas.

I serve on about one jury a day, like most DUers. Most have nothing to do with the primary race at all.

I alert very, very infrequently, and only on personal attacks on other DUers. Not everyone does it that way.

On Mon Oct 26, 2015, 08:50 AM an alert was sent on the following post:

I hope that people who are strong supporters of any candidate
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251727642

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

A META thread meant to stir trouble by implying Sanders supporters are unable to participate civilly in debate and conversation. Flame-bait and plain ignorant.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon Oct 26, 2015, 09:02 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Then send an SOP alert to the hosts.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I interpret the post the exact opposite of the alerter. While i'm ambivalent that this is, in fact meta, i'm not going to vote to purge. Lots of grown ups here and they can make their own decisions.

No insult i can see. I let it go.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: While I don't agree much, if at all, with the sentiment expressed, there is nothing outside TOS.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

I'm not surprised that people alert on my posts, but I try very hard not to write anything that would warrant a hide. I consider any hidden post to be a failure of civility. When it happens, which is very rarely, I look closely at the post and the context to learn why and try not to repeat my mistake.
