Why do these Republican traitors hate America so much?
A monthly newsletter published by the Greene County Republican Committee in Virginia is raising eyebrows for including a column in its March edition that calls for an "armed revolution" if President Barack Obama is elected to a second term in November.
Among articles denouncing a University of Virginia initiative to implement a living wage for employees of the institution, questioning if Obama is "Americas Most Biblically-Hostile U. S. President?" and an op-ed slamming the GOP establishment with generous use of capital letters, RightWingWatch picks out a column from the newsletter's editor, Ponch McPhee.
In it, McPhee urges readers to encourage other conservatives to vote in November. He goes on to warn that the consequences of not defeating Obama, a so-called "ideologue unlike anything world history has ever witnessed or recognized," would be dire.
" W)e shall not have any coarse [sic] but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November," McPhee writes. "This Republic cannot survive for 4 more years underneath this political socialist ideologue."

It's amazing how much has been tolerated already.
I son't think this would have passed under Shrub.
Any of our armed forces members care to comment?

(53,661 posts)Have their share of women haters there. What really is bothersome is that VA borders on DC.
That makes this more serious, to me, at least. Hopefully this was reported to SS already.
Note that Huffpo has this under CRIME.

(582 posts)I'm retired, Air Force to boot, but I still know which end of a M16A1 to point at the bad guys. I don't like a civil war, one of my last assignments was to empty a mass grave in Serbia. Don't want that here, however, if they feel that way, I'm sure we can accommodate them.

(53,661 posts)Were retreating, part of the things that the Seabees did I doubt few people ever hear about. Most people don't understand and I get a bit upset when I hear the bravado of frustration, 'let's have a revolution.'
The very people one says they want to protect will be the ones killed, in a war, many innocents. As far as the military standing with the CinC and those we elected, I am glad to hear it. With these voices who claim to speak for all of us and America, but seem to hate so many of us at the same time, it's discouraging.
Thanks for answering and doing what had to be one of things most of us have the luxury of never having to do. My father only talked about because on of his friends from then died, and it came out while he was rememebering him. I was amazed at what he was telling me.
Other than that, he never volunteered to talk about it. I wonder about the ones who act so tough and brag, and it seems that most of them never saw the death and suffering that wars brings.

So it made it appear as if it was something new.
That's confusing. I guess The OP says in March, and then Huffpo reported it again. And the story was originally posted in May.
False alarm, I guess. Although I remember a story like this that was more detailed and the SS did go to the guy's house... Thought it was a Teaparty nutter, not the GOP party itself, like this.
Perhaps the OP writer is subscribed to the CRIME section of Huffpo and was sent an Update, when there was nothing changed in the story, not that I can tell.
Although we've never heard how this was resolved, either. Why is being updated, to change it from the original about the guy who was questioned to now lay it at the GOP's door?
I guess we'll just let this one go.

(10,336 posts)I see virulent posts on my FB all the time. One was so bad, early on, that I warned the poster that his account was surely being monitored by someone to ensure the safety of the POTUS. Another poster posts every single day, Good Morning, I'm off to work so that those that don't want to don't have to" or something like that. I guess he thinks somehow people who don't deserve it are getting something for free. I could go on and on, but I won't. Both of these people I speak of are not generic friends found on FB. They are lifelong friends in real life. They know of my medical condition. They know I raise funds for charity to help others. They know that my medical expenses alone, not including living expenses, exceed my total household income by a factor of two, even with Medicare and my supplemental. I post all the time about my real living conditions. It doesn't get through to them. I used to be in EMS. Several friends are crying now because a group of them are getting cut now due to budget. Yet most of of them are rabid R's for some reason, and they don't make the connections about why. I don't understand. Actually, I don't understand why most aren't D's. I went into that field (and law enforcement as well) because of how I feel about people, life, the human condition and such. I have seen and done so much that I would like to forget, and yet helped so many in their time of need (some at actual tragic death scenes). So, like I said, I don't get the mentality. Yes, many of them work in "the hood". Big deal. I worked it as well. Just because people's living conditions are terrible doesn't mean they are bad people. Sorry, just rambling. Feel free to jump in, I'm just so over it all. I better stock up on supplies, I'm sure it's gonna break loose as soon as he's re-elected.

(10,336 posts)The FB thing and social media is uncharted territory, and I am certain a large driver of world events we have already witnessed. I suspect that this election will not go well for Republicans. It's after that I'm worried about the nut jobs. And, no need to thank me, I did what I knew was my calling for that time in my life. Was glad to to it. Wish I could have hung in there, but my life changed drastically.
