WaPO: GOP votes down civil unions

Dear Log Cabin Republicans.....what is wrong with you?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/wp/2012/08/21/gop-votes-down-civil-unions/

TAMPA–The Republican party platform will continue to call for a constitutional amendment prohibiting same-sex unions, after a drafting committee rejected an attempt to allow for civil unions for gays and lesbians.
A loud majority of the committee opposed the amendment in a voice vote.
Discussion continues in the committee of other amendments that would also soften the party’s platform language on marriage.

Support for marriage equality is lowest (only 6%) among self-described "Tea Party" supporters. And it is the "Tea Party," co-opted by religious conservatives, that has come to dominate today's GOP. And THAT is why the new GOP platform says Gay Americans will get nothing, under any name, in terms of legal equality.

I wish I knew what the Log Cabin Republicans were thinking right now. Are they demoralized? Or will they be laughing and smiling and patting each other on the back long after the rest of the GOP throws them under the bus? I honestly don't know.

Actually most of them would prefer a CHRISTIAN VERSION of OT sharia type law to our secular government, which they want to destroy.
