Latin American Herald Tribune poll: Obama/Biden leads 63-28 among Latinos nationally

Another 'modest lead' I guess??

Poll Shows Obama-Biden Ticket with Huge Edge Among Hispanics
Obama is maintaining his popularity among the Hispanic community, which represents 11 percent of the country’s registered voters, while Romney has seen both the percentage of his supporters as well as his detractors grow during the past month

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama and his vice president and running mate, Joe Biden, would receive the support of a robust 63 percent of Hispanic voters compared with 28 percent who would vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan if the election were held today, according to a survey released on Wednesday.

Despite the notable difference, the Democratic candidate over the past month dropped 4 points in support among Latino voters, while the Republican increased by 5 points, according to the poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal, along with Telemundo and NBC News.

Obama is maintaining his popularity among the Hispanic community, which represents 11 percent of the country’s registered voters, while Romney has seen both the percentage of his supporters as well as his detractors grow during the past month.

Sixty-seven percent of those surveyed hold a positive opinion of Obama and 19 percent view him negatively, while Romney is viewed positively by 31 percent and negatively by 48 percent of Hispanic voters.

with the blacks, hispanics and women. There just aren't enough white rich guys to make up the difference.

it isn't close
the media needs a horserace to make billions in profits from saying that

if they tell the public its a landslide, why would anyone watch?

And the more a landslide it is, the more people will vote for Obama, and the corporations don't want that, so they lie and distort.

look at the way that article above is phrased...always a dig at Obama even in a great poll article.

I hope that the people who like President Obama bother to vote. Unfortunately, Hispanic political participation in Texas is miserably low, with rather more often than not thirty percent of eligible Texas Hispanic voters going to the polling stations.

I am NOT talking about resident aliens or undocumented Hispanics from other countries. I'm talking about Texans of Hispanic descent born and raised in the USA.

This lack of participation isn't due to active Republican voter suppression. It's because all too many Texas Hispanics don't bother to either register or actually vote.

If Texans of Hispanic descent bothered to vote in the same percentage of their population that European-descended Texans do, they could upend the political landscape of the Lone Star State.

and whether there recent immigrants or naturalized citzens. For instance until recently I didn't know that evangelical christians are a huge subset of Brazilian Immigrants. I sat down with a bunch of girls who are about 20 and we were talking about life, politics and such. The thing I took away from the conversation was that they were all going to vote for Obama, because of Immigration, but became visibily upset when abortion came up, all of them were almost violently prolife. I don't how that shakes out across ethnic groups.

Granted Texas is a real long shot but if anything happens to boost Hispanic turnout and dampen Republican turnout it would be a possibility.
