I'm not good at talking like regular folks, but another point we ought to make is that if progressives want progressive policies but don't bother to vote while right-wing Tea Party social and economic reactionaries do go down to the polls and vote, the right-wingers will be the ones deciding which way their city, their county, their state, and the country will go--NOT THEM.
