Gallup poll finally changes - Obama & Romney TIED

After 7 days of being the odd man out and being the only one showing Romney with a lead day after day, Gallup's numbers have finally changed.

Romney finally lost his +2 lead. Obama went up 1 and Romney went down 1, resulting in a tie.

Does this mean Romney's bump may be subsiding?

Obama 46% = +1

Romney 46% = -1

trends-over-time are interesting, but it is annoying when people focus on single snapshots by 1 poll CabCurious Aug 2012 #7

National polls in general are pointless at this point, given that it's really about swing states.

If we want to make something out of national polls, then look at TRENDS across the averages of the polls.

They are more or less meaningless under our form of elective process. With the electoral college a national poll is irrelevant.
