2016 Postmortem

What we saw in KY is low voter turnout, and the GOP is brilliant at orchestrating that.
They do it in direct and not so direct ways.
The direct ways are passing unconstitutional poll tax voter ID laws, knowing that it will prevent MILLIONS of Black Americans from voting, and they do it in non direct ways like infiltrating liberal radio shows, message boards, the media in general with a message of "both sides are the same" or "Hillary bad".
It works, they know it and they do it every election cycle.
For those of you who actually understand the NIGHTMARE any GOP candidate represents for America and the human race, you have work to do, we really do.

(11,619 posts)According to the secretary of state's office, turnout was approximately 30.7 percent with 100 percent reporting.
When people don't vote, this shit happens.
The GOP, Right Wing, Tea Party conservatives know that. They know they can get enough people to turn out and vote. They count on it.

But please, continue to call us utter morons who can't possibly form our own opinions. It does wonders for healing primary discord.

(11,175 posts)In the view of some Clinton supporters, any criticism of Clinton, no matter how substantive, thoughtful, and issue-based, is carrying the Republicans' water.
So the only remaining question is: If Clinton gets the nomination and wants to heal that primary discord, will she be best served if her supporters have called other Democrats (1) idiots, or (2) right-wing trolls, or (3) some combination (dupes, I guess)?
Some Clinton supporters here seem to have in mind a fourth alternative, wherein we all engage in mutually respectful discussion of the areas where we disagree. Perhaps that radical idea will catch on. Thus far, however, the trend seems to be in the other direction.
