2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe irony of the gif of HRC with the shoulder brush...
...is that it was originally done by Barack Obama back in 2008 when he was brushing off Hillary Clinton. I don't remember the full context of it because that election was a never ending saga of a substantive debate vs. a purely political one. I remember wanting to pay attention to the substantive debate, but had trouble brushing off the political one the way Barack did when he brushed his shoulders off. Now the HRC camp is trying to claim it as their own with this gif. Meh

I don't know why, but I'm reminded of the DBA I once worked with who had community college paper.
She even had "Oracle Database Administrator" on her business cards, until Oracle made us make her remove it.
Why do you suppose that comes to mind?
Anyway, learn what ellipses are for, would you? I'm sure everyone would agree the knowledge would contribute significantly to the readability of your posts that contain more than one sentence.

(3,031 posts)On Thu Nov 5, 2015, 05:05 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
Are you insulted by it?????
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=770910
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Deliberate, overtly stated wish to insult another poster. This person just came off a time-out and apparently hasn't gotten the message.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Nov 5, 2015, 05:20 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's not exactly polite, but I'm not seeing any violations here. People here have got to start getting a little less sensitive or we will never make it through primary season, let alone the election.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is silliness. please, if you disagree with a supporter of nther candidate, if you dislike another poster .... using the alert system like this is NOT appropriate.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Agree with alert. I have no idea how VR is even still on du or why. Been on a forced vacation more than not
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Disruptive and inappropriate flamebaiting.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: You trolling alert stalkers need to knock it off. Leave
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

I was answering the OP. That's a video of Obama when he first used it & a gif made from that video.
For the record I think he was talking about brushing off the negative ads not Hillary.

(20,043 posts)What were you referring to? Include what in my posts? What are you talking about?
We'll have to disagree about Hillary being dirt. I'm an O'Malley supporter so you're not hurting my feelings with that kind of talk. I just think it's silly and childish.
whatchamacallit
(15,558 posts)My understanding is that it was a diss to Hillary, so why would anyone add it to a pro-Hillary post? Seems counterintuitive.

(20,043 posts)I don't have either in any of my posts. I only put it in that one to answer the OP.
Though to be honest, I thought it was funny and appropriate when both did it. They both scored points when they needed to with it.
