Related: About this forumHillary supporters angry about butt crack!
To them, it's an outrage that when asked about kicking republican butt Bernie said there are other butts to kick first. It's somehow sexist.
The level of hillarity about this has reached new levels. Please continue.

(11,014 posts)It demeans the office.
We don't want judges, senators, cabinet secretaries, presidents etc. using colloquial euphemisms to see the office in an inferior light.

(26,449 posts)It might have merit if he said something that wasn't so mild. I'm pretty sure that with a little research I could find a number of similar remarks by Hillary.
What I've seen are accusations of sexism over the comment.

(4,211 posts)Bending over backwards and twisting one's own arm to be offended about something Bernie did seems to be the norm for some hillary supporters. Its on par with how the GOP treats Obama. Drum up phony outrage over a non exiting offense. I guess that's what you do when you can't fight record for record.

Removing dictators in the ME has had no good consequences for anyone living there, unless you count the fundie whackjobs moving in to fill the power vacuums. There is not one single counterexample. Why do you think this is good?
Dictators by their nature destroy any possibility of a civil society, but at least people can have lives that in other respects are normal.

Under Gaddafi, Libya could boast one of the best healthcare services in the Middle East and Africa. Also if a Libyan citizen could not access the desired educational course or correct medical treatment in Libya they were funded to go abroad.
Electricity was free in Libya meaning absolutely no electric bills! During Gaddafis reign the price of petrol in Libya was as low as 0.14 (US dollars) per litre. Libya had its own State bank, which provided loans to citizens at zero percent interest by law and they had no external debt

This saying works because of the "got the shaft" double entendre. But a certain on-air commentator got the vapors when Bill Clinton used that line in his acceptance speech at the 1992 DNC. "First time a presidential candidate used a vulgarity in his acceptance speech," he cried.
All the other pundits just gave him a confused look. Then started laughing at him. Then told him to shut up and stop making a fool of himself when he continued going on about it.

(35,568 posts)but I blame us for that. Tried to encourage people but I've noticed over the years that Leftist Liberals suck at strategy. With a board that's overwhelmingly full of Bernie supporters, why are Bernie supporters not the majority of MIRT? Volunteer Bernie supporters with stars! Go man those critical positions. Like I said though, I blame us for that. Meanwhile all the new Clinton supporters get through. And people wonder some jury calls are spitefully much closer than they should be.

(35,568 posts)I have the highest admiration for the few Bernie supporters there. I'm sorry if it looked like I didn't. I think we need a better balance of DU's political make-up.
If anything, I think people like you need support because I can only imagine what it must be like.
azurnoir
(45,850 posts)when there are supposedly proBernie members that genuflect each and every ban no matter how questionable one must ask why bother
Catherina
(35,568 posts)I'll betcha almost all those *supposedly* proBernie members are on my ignore list starting with the "I support Bernie BUT..." crowd. They're comically obvious.
I really think the only answer is to try to get as many real Bernie supporters on as possible to balance things out. The make-up here is 80-90% pro-Bernie and that should be the approximate make-up in MIRT too. I think once the numbers are balanced out and more representational, the fakes who genuflect will have a harder time maintaining their charade as real Bernie supporters weigh in. It's not like they're fooling anyone anyway.
I am sorry that the few Bernie supporters who volunteered were outnumbered and beat up on. I hope we can change that. No one should be getting beaten up on and no one who posts at a site openly dedicated to persecuting Bernie and his supporters should even be on MIRT. It makes the whole thing an ugly joke.
There are many days I really don't feel like posting here because off all the bullshit going on but it matters and solidarity matters too. If Bernie can keep slogging through all that hate, so can we I think. The real question is how on earth did so many of us step away from the plate and leave just a few brave souls to represent us on that team? And what are we going to do about it to make sure our voices are proportionally represented?
You know, I only opined on this because I can see what Bernie supporters like you who are graciously serving on MIRT are being subjected to. I know everyone's supposed to pretend nothing's amiss for some fake sort of harmony but that's bullshit and exactly why the Party is so stunned now that so many people won't play ball anymore after all that intellectually insulting pretending.
Thank you for representing us. I mean that sincerely.

...
The top 1 percent of U.S. households saw their earnings grow 4.9 percent in 2014, according to a new analysis of Social Security Administration data from the Economic Policy Institute, a left-leaning think tank. That represents a healthy boost to those families' bottom line, especially given that inflation grew at less than 1 percent last year.
Life was even better for the super-rich, or the 0.1 percent of America's earners, whose income jumped 8.9 percent last year. That income growth appears even more favorable when compared with the middling fortunes of the bottom 90 percent, given that their incomes rose just 1.4 percent in 2014, keeping them barely ahead of inflation.
...
All other income groups have now returned to their pre-recession incomes. But that won't provide much comfort for the middle class: the bottom 90 percent made $33,297 in annual income last year, just $20 more than they took home in 2007.
