Clint Eastwood was the perfect choice last night.

Choosing an addled old man to personify the typical angry Republican voter was very fitting, and certainly Mitt Romney knows what it's like to speak to empty chairs. When it comes down to it, I think Clint Eastwood's appearance dovetailed quite nicely with the Romney/Ryan campaign.

Thank goodness the geniuses at the RNC didn't pick Larry the Cable Guy, a devout conservative. That might actually have left a mark and given the Republicans something to talk about today.

I'll bet he didn't tell them and even more amazingly they didn't even ask.

They just had some vague idea that he would get up there and trash the President and that's really all they cared about.
