Not bloody likely any more than she would seek to rendition and prosecute the Board of Directors of AIG and Cerberus Capital.

Business as usual. She' s their girl.

as I think this could make or break her chances if national security is the election's main issue. Things to watch for will be her stance on refugees and yes, the terminology regarding radical Islam.

I noticed the event will occur at the 92nd Street Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Association. This is no coincidence, given Obama's drop of 10% in the Jewish vote, and the American mainstream's preference of Israel vs. its enemies. Obama's seeming preference for Palestinians, in face of pro-Israel views that cut across many demographics, is one thing that helps "otherize" Democrats.

László Krasznahorkai and Salman Rushdie

A rare US appearance by László Krasznahorkai—the “contemporary Hungarian master of apocalypse,” wrote Susan Sontag. Winner of this year’s Man Booker International Prize, Krasznahorkai is author of The Melancholy of Resistance, Satantango and Seiobo There Below. His new collection of nonfiction is Destruction and Sorrow Beneath the Heavens: Reportage.

He is joined by one of his biggest local admirers, Salman Rushdie, whose new novel, Two Years, Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights, is set in a New York of the near future made strange after a massive storm. “He is rare and magical writer,” wrote Michael Chabon.

Bob Schieffer in Conversation with Norah O'Donnell

Few people know more about politics than Bob Schieffer, the Washington insider who’s been on a first-name basis with key DC figures for decades.

A member of the Rat Pack of broadcast journalism’s halcyon years (along with Walter Cronkite, Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings and Dan Rather), Bob Schieffer has held every major job at CBS News. He’s moderated presidential debates, anchored the network news, written bestselling books and survived cancer. His show, “Face the Nation,” which this year celebrated its 60th anniversary, still sits atop the ratings. Join him in the run-up to the Iowa caucuses, as he begins a Harvard fellowship focused on the 2016 election, for his expert take on today’s news, and what’s going on behind the headlines.

The Bennenson Lecture: Anne-Marie Slaughterr in Conversation with Dov Seidman: Unfinished Business: Men Women Work Family

Anne-Marie Slaughter’s article for The Atlantic, “Why Women Still Can’t Have it All,” created a firestorm — yet women at both ends of the income scale are still constrained by the “motherhood penalty.”

Now she is back — with a new book, Unfinished Business — with a new focus that can reunite the women’s movement and provide a common banner under which both men and women can thrive. Dov Seidman, the successful entrepreneur and CEO, who promoted the idea that our behavior matters and prescribed a new, values-based approach to leadership and business in his book HOW, joins her in conversation.
