2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe under the bus crap
I don't throw people under the proverbial bus because they endorse someone other than my candidate and I doubt very many others here do that.
It's a sorry, stupid meme.
Am I disappointed that Sherrod Brown, a politician I like and admire endorsed Hillary over Bernie? Sure. Do I still like and admire him? Indeed I do.

(55,981 posts)You would have to be naive not to see the purge here, the alert stalking of progressives. The glee when a progressive is banned.
But try to silence us all you want. The People will prevail over the Billionaires and Wall Street. You are on the wrong side of this class war. I am curious how you rationalize 50 million Americans in poverty at the hands of the very corps you side with. Do you honestly think that an Admin put into office by the billionaires is going to make poverty their first priority?

(28,749 posts)Then we will talk.
Until then, it's just noise.
Cali and I actually have a pretty cordial relationship on this website, sorry I know it doesn't fit the narrative.

(55,981 posts)be civil more often." So you are saying the reason she got a vacation is because she isn't civil more often. I think you mean people should acquiesce to your leader more often. You really don't know Democrats. We don't "acquiesce" well. Not real Democrats.
There are two sides to this class war.
The 99% side (The People)......................The 1% side (Corp-America)
Progressives...........................................Conservatives
Sen Sanders and Warren.........................H. Clinton
Unions...................................................Corporations
the unemployed......................................CEO's making millions and billions
50 million in poverty............................... Goldman-Sachs, Citi Bank, Wells Fargo, Bank of America
students with crippling debt......................Monsanto, Comcast, ATT, etc.
Vets living in the street.............................Wall Street crooks
Seniors living on SS and Medicare...............Republicons
Big Money is killing the 99%. How can Democrats support Big Money.

(8,175 posts)1. They want a woman for President. They want someone who represents and supports women's issues. They know Hill does, but they think Bernie doesn't. They are wrong on that.
2. They want someone who supports them (the upper middle class and above...many of them may be business owners who are terrified of a $15 minimum wage).
3. They want someone who will keep the capitalist system running as usual (tax breaks and all), including globalism. They favor offshoring jobs, cheap labor and a strong wall street that keeps their capital gains growing, and maybe even sheltering funds offshore.
They claim they are supporting Hillary because of women's issues, LGBT, and AA, but Hillary has never been a strong supporter for LGBT or AA in the US, or immigration...so who are they fooling? Not us. Maybe themselves. But I really think it all boils down to selfishness, or women's issues, because if they really wanted to support policy changes that helped AA and immigrants, they'd be backing Bernie. He's been stronger on LGBT issues too...has always been in favor of equality for everyone. And they support ACA (most of them) but not single payer. Again capitalism at it's best...not caring about the poor or even the failing middle class, which is made up of a lot of POC.

(55,981 posts)stands on any issues. They won't debate any issues. I don't think that most of them are even voting for her because she is a woman. They want a strong, tough authoritative leader. It's the "biggest bully" syndrome. They want to side with the biggest bully. Just like on the school yard. People are willing to give up their freedoms and liberties for the "promise" of security.
Eric Fromm wrote a very apropos essay "The Authoritarian Personality".
For the most part, liberals and progressives are open-minded, skeptical and always challenging authority. Conservatives like to follow. They hate those that challenge authority like Snowden, investigative journalists, protesters, and liberals.
passiveporcupine
(8,175 posts)They are with Hillary on the issues. If they tried to talk about them, they'd give themselves away...that they are not for the common man. They are elitists. Yeah, they tried to blame Bernie supporters as elitists, but it's really Hill supporters who are elitists.

(55,981 posts)them out on a limb. For example. Do her supporters support fracking or not? At one time she was very much in favor, but recently she has backed of slightly. So ask one of her supporters if they support fracking and watch them squirm.
In the debate she was asked if she didn't understand why people thought that the big bucks being donated to her would influence her decisions. Her answer was a non-answer. She said that if they thought that, they didn't know her very well. Not a denial.
Ask her supporters if they support big money in politics? Best you will get is crickets.

(55,981 posts)Alert, lock, hide and ban, instead of engaging in discussion about issues. You may lock us and hide us but the People will win out over the Billionaire supported politicians.
The billionaires hate progressives because progressives want to eliminate poverty. The Conservatives see cutting poverty would cut into the profits of the 1%, and that is most important. Vote HRC and watch corp-profits continue to climb.

(55,981 posts)getting banned or run off like woo. There is no question that there is a site where the conservative side plots against the progressives. I can't go on because I know that I am being stalked.

Or do you just "randomly" do opposition research after someone endorses her? lol.
cali
(114,904 posts)It's independent of their endorsements. Just as my fondness for Leahy, Brown and many others is independent of their endorsing Hillary.
It ain't rocket science Jamey.
NCTraveler
(30,481 posts)An extremely solid progressive and one of the strongest leaders in the Latino community endorses Clinton, and on a democratic board you do opposition research on that person.
By any manner in which under the bus is defined you nailed it. It's not rocket science. Your op's timing had nothing to do with you not liking him as you claim, it was a direct result of his support for Clinton. Meet the definition of under the bus.

(30,481 posts)And I have made some of my serious concerns about Clinton known on this very board. My thoughts on certain things has also changed dramatically since I've been here. I read a post here a couple of years ago by zombiehord(I think that's who it was) and it completely changed how I view the prison system and sentencing. I wish I could find it. Strangely enough it was all of about five sentences.

(34,825 posts)and unless I have the "bus-chuckers" on ignore, I'm not seeing it. Ever. Mild disagreement? Yes. But I don't know when general disagreement with a person suddenly became "bus-chucking". But it doesn't prevent the Hillarians from making several posts about the alleged "bus-chucking".

Your attempt to use CT to disparage my opinion smells of desperation. Why don't you refute my allegations? That rhetorical. I know why.
I would hope that all Democrats would reject the big money donations that expect quid pro quo returns at the expense of the 99%. I can only conclude that hero worship is so important that some can overlook the facts that big money is sponsoring HRC. We in the 99%, can't afford (literally) any more corporate domination.
