She is a horrible interviewer, she has a grating personality, she isn't very knowledgable about anything, and her show seems to have no purpose other than fill time. It must be sad to have been there for so many years and still being relegated to open up shop on weekend mornings.

Supposedly Romney got a 5 point bump ]in his favorability rating. That is highly plausible and doesn't even mean that those voters who now see him more favorably will now lean toward voting for him. Heck, some of them may have leaned toward voting for him before anyway but finally now see him more favorably.

And no way does that translate into an overall 5 point voter bump.

I knew that it was not about the polls....

And the people that suddenly viewed him more favorably, are people that watched the Convention, which were most likely republicans, because most people with intelligence couldn't stomach it.

they should have held their convention at a Hampton Inn, off I95 and just had someone with a cellphone camera video it for a 5pt bump

Which means that the republicans that watched the convention, or Fox news, don't hate him as much as they used to. lol.

This was NOT a real bump or bounce, but the media isn't really talking about that. NEver have they used a "favorability" measure to describe a bounce, but it's all they have right now.

And Romney actually lost ground after his speech 44-42 now 44-43.
http://www.ipsos-na.com/news-polls/pressrelease.aspx?id=5743
But obviously the media is going to spin this as a positive for Romney and a bad sign for Obama. Then next week after Obama gets a larger bump than Romney got, the media will spin it to why wasn't it a larger bump and a bad sign for Obama

There really isn't enough data here and you have to take correlations with a grain of salt. Obama's convention in 2008 got almost as many viewer's as Reagan's in 1980. Yet Reagan got over a 20 point bounce and Obama got less than 2 points. I suspect that's due to the fact that basically everybody in the country already knew who Barack Obama was before the convention in 2008. A combination of the 24 hour cable news shows and ads being run earlier and earlier changes in the landscape. When Reagan had his convention in 1980, there was no internet, no 24 hour cable news, and a lot less money spent on ads. Much of the country was probably hearing Reagan speak for the first time at that convention.

in favorability for Romney still leaves him in the "sucks canal water" zone! Even going up by 5 points, his favorability rating is awful and not going to get him to winner status. Thank goodness. And if after all the adulation that was heaped upon him this past week he couldn't get a bounce for how much people "liked him"......there would be no hope of that EVER happening. With complete control of messaging, timing, etc. they SHOULD have been able to improve those numbers and they did. Good for them. Not sure what they will do when he is out on the road and being his usual "charming self" again.....sans propaganda machine telling us all what a wonderful guy he is. Gak.....
