Martin O'Malley Sings 'Deportees' To Honor One Year DAPA Anniversary

To honor the one year DAPA anniversary, we'd like to sing you a song. Families shouldn't live in fear of separation.

'As millions of families come home tonight, I can’t help but think of what New Americans, on the anniversary of an executive action that would have brought them peace and dignity, are living tonight.

I dedicate this song to the safety of our families. Woody Guthrie wrote it in 1948 as a protest song for 28 migrant farm-workers that died in a plane that was deporting them. Since all of them were just "labor," in the news they were called "deportees."

We all have a name and a family. We are New Americans.'

Very moving

(Bernie recorded a record where he mostly talked folk songs. Judging from that, I assume he was one of the kids told to sing softly in chorus. As to Hillary, in 2008, people were able to isolate her voice on the national anthem - she was not one of the rare people who can sing it.)

and their candidate shines. Like a cool, refreshing rain after a blistering day, a MO'M supporter chimes in to remind us of what it's all about. Thank you.
