Hillary Clinton is killing the celeb endorsement game
by Valentina Zarya @valzarya OCTOBER 31, 2015, 6:00 AM EST
Hollywood has found its candidate.
Who is Taylor Swift going to vote for in the 2016 presidential election? What about Kanye West?
These questions might not seem all that important until you consider the fact that President Barack Obama may owe his presidency to media mogul and talk show host Oprah Winfrey. A study published in the Journal of Law, Economics & Organization in 2013 found that Winfreys endorsement of Obama over Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primary gained him over a million votesmore or less the same number of votes by which he beat Clinton.
Clinton seems to have learned that lesson and this time around has secured the endorsements of a number of influential personalities. Here are just a few of the celebs rooting for Team Hillary:
Kim Kardashian & Kanye West
Robert DeNiro
Lena Dunham
Pharrell Williams
Hip hop producer Pharrell Williams showed his support for Clinton when he told GQ back in March: Hillarys gonna win. Listen, Im reaching out to her right now. Shes gonna win.
Beyonce
In May, a fan account tweeted a photo of Beyonce with the caption: Beyonce steps out in support of the Hillary Rodham Clinton Campaign Event. Queen Bey was reportedly attending a Clinton fundraiser in New York City.

This class war is between the Progressive Wing and 99% and the Conservatives of both Parties being funded by the 1%.
It's a class war. Goldman-Sachs isn't on our side.

(34,648 posts)I do not mind the existance of wealthy people nor do I feel a need to take them down. If they commit crimes they should be prosecuted. I am not interested in punishing the rich through a tax war. We need to be careful of assigning motives to people. We can find ways to boost the incomes of the lower classes without the war imagery.
DonCoquixote
(13,616 posts)A tax war is NOT rolling back tax cuts that were done under Bush. It is also not making them pay closer rates to what nations like France or even the UK charge. No we do not need war imagery, but we do need to acknowledge the fact that the rich are NOT paying into the system that brought them into being in the first place.

(55,981 posts)their fair share. They have been looting the middle and working classes to gain huge profits, huge wealths. There are no other way but to make them pay their share. Their greed is actually killing poor Americans that don't get decent health care and decent meals.
I am very disappointed that you side with them. They have cause the build up of the military police forces that are killing innocent people in our streets. They brought about the for-profit prisons that lobby for stricter laws to imprison peoples of the lower classes.

(12,958 posts)She is throwing the general to win the primary. It's the most cowardly political campaign I have ever seen a Democrat run.

(30,058 posts)Using the DNC for his pleasure to run for president. Running from the voters, like he over talked BLM at NN and tried to ignore them at Seattle?

(12,958 posts)Hillary has them dragged out.
I have seen Hillary's supporters ranting endlessly about and listing his policies, but her own supporters cannot list hers. Who is hiding from what?
AgingAmerican
(12,958 posts)She is doing no preparation for the general election. More tripe.

(135,425 posts)How much coverage did that whoop-di-do event get WITHOUT HER?
Answer--damn little. Doggone the bad luck, eh?
HRC takes unscripted questions at every single event she does. She doesn't give a stump speech, pose for a few selfies, and then lumber out.
You really know nothing about her campaign if you say things like "But I guess I understand that they might ask follow up questions." That is all she does is take questions and talk WITH (as opposed to AT) people.

I think not i think at that point all the hatefulness will run out and since there wont be anymore "fame", such as it is,or blind agreement with every silly baiting statement all the fun will be gone for the phony
The true believers wont have much patience with the phonys once the phonys have served the true believers needs.
They will set on that phony like rabid wolverines and shred that phony down to bone

(1,561 posts)Can´t defend her on the issues of course. There was another thread asking for 3 things that Clinton will do to benefit him.....crickets from Clinton supports. But every 2nd thread is an endorsement for Hillary or poll.

That's the problem, you guys keep saying Hillary supporters are about polls, and never discuss the issues, when that is factually untrue.
Issues are posted, sometimes in very lengthy, detailed posts -all of which you ignore just to go back to the meme "Cinton supporters don't discuss issues"
What's the POINT if those post will always be ignored?
BTW, every time Sanders posts well, it gets like ten posts with dozens of recs...problems it hardly happens anymore...
