Ending the meme that Bernie won't get anything done with Republicans once elected

Let's end this RIGHT HERE and RIGHT NOW.

First off, overall Republicans like the guy and we can start with this article here http://www.nationaljournal.com/s/71225/bernie-sanders-is-loud-stubborn-socialist-republicans-like-him-anyway

Now we go on to KOS & MSNBC from when Ted Cruz appeared on Hardball in July.
http://www.nbcnews.com/id/57664167/ns/msnbc-hardball_with_chris_matthews/t/hardball-chris-matthews-thursday-july-rd/

CRUZ: ... a lot of rhetoric about opposing big business and big money
-- the Democrats, virtually all of them, are supporting this cronyism and
corporate welfare. The one person who`s standing up strong is Bernie
Sanders. This is an issue where Bernie and I are in complete agreement.
We need to end this corporate welfare. But far too many Democrats -- and I
will readily admit far too many Republicans -- are supporting hundreds of
billions of dollars of loan guarantees to giant corporations at the expense
of the taxpayers.
I think people are fed up with that. They want someone who will stand
with the working man and woman against the bipartisan corruption of
Washington!

MATTHEWS: Is that a strategy on the right to build up Bernie Sanders?

CRUZ: Well, I`ve said for a long time, I like and respect Bernie
Sanders...

MATTHEWS: ... you`re building him up. You just did it. You took an
opportunity for a call-out there to build -- what is the strategy to build
up Bernie Sanders from the right-wing perspective? You`re right wing...

MATTHEWS: ... now that we`re identifying each other.
CRUZ: I respect honesty in politics.

It's a foreign concept to folks who think basic morality is something like a game of Whack-a-mole.

They just don't let morality get in the way of delegitimizing a Democratic president. The did it with Clinton and Obama, and the next Democratic president will have the same set of problems. To think that Sanders somehow is immune to this treatment because he is shielded by "positions rooted in basic morality" us absurd.

to do everything, and he would let them fight it out in the courts. This is what Bill Clinton did in the face of Republican obstruction.

Sanders would also make heavy use of the bully pulpit.

It'll be exactly the same whether Hillary or Bernie is in there. The Republicans hate both of them and will fight either of them just the same as they've fought Pres. Obama.

I suspect if he does get elected they'll get over that, but by then of course it'll be too late.

But the republicans in power don't like him at all. He's the opposite of what they want - they're all corporate sponsored and they will do whatever they can to keep the economic status quo, and he is the antithesis of that - which is exactly why I'm voting for him, but it's also what will make him have a great deal in trouble in office, just as Hillary will have a great deal of trouble if she's in office.

10. It is a stupid argument.

Nov 2015

Because, of course, you can reasonably say the very same thing about Hillary Clinton.

Indeed, the antipathy by the Repuglicans towards the Clintons is undoubtedly much higher than it is towards Sanders.

Or are the Hillarians trying to insist that because Hillary is more conservative than Sanders that the Repuglicans in Congress will have less problems with her more conservative proposals?

And ... it is a defeatist point, too. The Hillarians seem to be very confident that the Repuglicans are going to keep majority control of both houses of Congress at the 2016 elections.

I understand being enthusiastic for one's chosen candidate, but some of the arguments the Hillary supporters come up with are just off the wall. I have an idea why, but it is too bad because in the long it doesn't help the Democratic Party or the liberal, progressive cause.

It's hilarious because Hillary supporters suddenly think she'll show up to work and wave some magic wand and make all the hate for go away. Meanwhile, there are Republicans talking about impeaching her on the first day she's elected. http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2015/10/27/3716654/hillary-clinton-impeach-north-carolina-voters-poll/

So let's get this right, apparently we have a very popular idiot with Ted Cruz who's saying there are common issues he could work on with Bernie and we have another saying he wants to impeach Hillary. Gee, I can't imagine who would get more done. Up is down, down in up.

Truth is though, the amount of baggage and the bridges Hillary has burned aren't a mythical thing, they're real.

the republicans and the media have given him a free ride so far. If they ever think Bernie Sanders had any real chance to win that would change and they bring those artificially elevated poll numbers down like a rock. Nobody but his most ardent supporters believe he has any chance whatsoever to win the primary though. It's all conjecture and we will never find out anyway since he will endorse Hillary eventually etc...
