The endless parade of endorsements is ridiculous. But it is effective in making oodles of headlines

Never mind the vapidity of these "news" stories, that yet another person (who nobody even knows) is toeing the party line(!), their point is to perpetuate the illusion that Hillary is inevitable. But scratch the surface and there's nothing there, and people are starting to realize it. Something tells me this house of mirrors is about to come crashing down...

But that's not the point (beyond the obvious easy headline).

it's for that other important part of politics.

"all politics is local"

The more she brings on locally, the more that are out there campaigning for and with her. And that creates more of the mindshare

people in this country that will vote for her for her to be President. Simple as that.

I know no one who will but I know a ton of people who will vote against her.

I'll vote for her in the general election if I have to

It seems a little insulting to anyone who has the ability to think for themselves that they should vote for somebody because some politician or celebrity thinks they should.

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." --Thomas Jefferson

Oh, many people know the endorsers. You might not, but every member of Congress has constituents. Every labor leader has union members. Every person who endorses a candidate is known by many. Those who know and respect those endorsers will be influenced by their endorsement to some degree.

Endorsements matter, whether you know who the endorser is or not.

I don't know all of them, either. But, the ones I know and respect get my attention.
