2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie's instincts are right: Americans care more about the economy than about ISIS.
Obviously Hillary & Friends would love to change the subject, away from domestic economic issues. Maybe it's too strong to say that "we don't care" about ISIS or terrorism in general, but if it didn't happen in the US, it gets forgotten rather quickly. The truth is that in the end Americans almost always vote their pocketbooks.
Anyway, Bernie should stay the course.

(11,417 posts)But it looks to me like he was never really prepared for this campaign.
He stuck to economic justice and had to learn about social justice.
He had to learn about immigration policy.
Now he either goes to school on foreign policy or it will look like he can't handle the job of president.
I really had no reason to reject Bernie as a candidate. I thought that Hillary was more experienced.
Now I do have a reason to reject him. His inability to deal with foreign policy would scare me if he were president.

"Americans are increasingly concerned that ISIS represents a direct terror threat, fearful that ISIS agents are living in the United States, according to a new CNN/ORC International poll. Most now support military action against the terrorist group.
Seven in 10 Americans believe ISIS has the resources to launch an attack against the United States, just days before President Barack Obama plans to address the nation on the subject."
