Related: About this forumRep. Luis Gutierrez to endorse Hillary Clinton
WASHINGTON Rep. Luis Gutierrez D-Ill. will make his backing of Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton official on Monday, delivering an endorsement before she speaks at an immigration conference in Brooklyn, a Clinton aide told the Sun-Times.
Gutierrez, a national leader on immigration reform, will introduce Clinton at the National Immigrant Integration Conference and formally offer the endorsement before her speech.
Gutierrez had made his support for Clinton known earlier. What is noteworthy is that the Clinton campaign is showcasing Gutierrez at a national conference in New York where Gutierrez in a sense will vouch for her immigration policies/

(30,481 posts)Opposition research was done on him by a member of DU. lol. They cited a right wing investigation from years ago that went no where as their "proof" he was corrupt. They saw this endorsement coming and tried to get ahead of the game. Gutierrez is awesome and one of the biggest allies of the Latino community.

(30,481 posts)Thanks for the clarification. Do you know how the investigations into Gutierrez headed up by a right wing asshole ended?

(3,146 posts)I personally don't care who endorses Hillary and I don't think I should get too excited about who endorses Bernie. I just want to do what I can to get him a win in Iowa and NH. You all can bicker amongst yourselves about this that and the other. It's of no interest to me. But I'll admit that for someone not interested in it, I do seem to check here a lot. It's like a car crash on the highway. I know I shouldn't look, but I can't help it.

(30,481 posts)I must apologize as well. I thought my earlier reply was to Cali. Said poster is very familiar with Rep. Conyers investigation into Gutierrez. The only thing they won't discuss is the ending and what was actually found.

(135,425 posts)And Sanders has had almost no success in gathering supers to his cause. That IS a problem for him, one his supporters think they can ignore.
He can't win without them, and he hasn't gotten but a few. They're not going to flip, either.

(3,146 posts)For the record, I don't remember wanting to start any dialogue with you about any of this. If you read my post, there was nothing in it that suggested that I wanted to have this conversation with anyone. In fact, it pretty much says the opposite. Do you feel like you need to explain to me the importance of super delegates because we're both from MA? Aside from my telling you in this post that I have nothing to say to you, I really have nothing to say to you. I don't care for your confrontational style.

(135,425 posts)I'm not confrontational. I don't get personal and I trade in plain, simple facts. That said, we can't all be loved, can we?
