A good day for Bernie Sanders

By Alex Seitz-Wald

12/17/15 01:18 PM—UPDATED 12/17/15 01:59 PM

WASHINGTON – It was a good day for Bernie Sanders – and it came just when he needed one.

In a string of victories Thursday morning for the insurgent Democratic presidential candidate, Sanders announced that his campaign had hit its goal of receiving 2 million individual campaign contributions, picked up the endorsement of the 700,000-member strong Communications Worker of America and earned a nod from the liberal group Democracy for America.

It’s a much needed boost for a candidate whose campaign’s momentum seemed to stall a bit lately, and it comes just two days before the party’s next presidential debate in the crucial state of New Hampshire.

Introducing Sanders at a joint press conference at the union’s headquarters here as “the next president of the United States,” CWA President Chris Shelton said the union decided to back Sanders only after its members had made their preference overwhelmingly clear in an online poll.

And at least according to the union president, the electorate is supporting their endorsement. Better than what could be said about SEIU.

Yay!

I worked for Western Electric, installing main office switching systems (mostly cross-bar 5 electro-mechanical technology, if you care, in other words, all electro-magnetic relays. I also worked on some of the early ESS main offices -- electronic switching systems).

The best thing I ever did was ditch Ma Bell to complete a physics degree. It was a horrible company to work for. And CWA was always hard put to eke out any concessions. We made incremental improvements in those days. But on the whole, and in hind sight, we did well.

They are a very large union, still fighting the good fight. 700,000 strong!

Oh! Almost forgot. R&

and I'm guessing it took a discreet ID to allow voting. I'm beginning to believe that if you hold an online poll with these controls than perhaps they identify the truth MUCH MORE FULLY than polls done in secrecy and paid for by the campaign hoping to seem inevitable. Maybe we have entered the matrix and these online polls are a pill of a different color...

For shame! Not subtle, MSNBC, and NOT true.

Bernie Sanders is experiencing a steady and strengthening increase in supporters.

The M$M can whine and dissemble until the cows come home. Bernie's supporters know better.

Seitz-Wald still kind of buys into this meme of Bernie struggling...he hasn't been.

For months now, his candidacy has been exceeding the benchmarks Obama set when he was running against HRC in 2008. What everybody but those supporting Bernie seem to be missing is, Bernie is on fire even more so v HRC at the same point O was in his campaign and yet, with Bernie Sanders, he has doubled the amount of individual contributions, he is at or beyond where O was v HRC in polling, he has an incredibly strong and passionate following and WHEN he becomes our next President, there is no way he sells out to Wall Street in a second term to pay back early favors and support....no way.

This is going to be one hell of a shocking election in the US.
