2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy didn't any of the reporters questioned Mittens about the timeline?
As everyone is aware now, the first statement (http://egypt.usembassy.gov/st040611.html) from the U.S. embassy in Egypt came before the protests - certainly many hours before the violence in Benghazi .
Mittens, and his entire campaign apparatus, did not realize this yesterday when they released their own statement and wrongly assumed that the embassy's statement came as a result of protesters scaling the wall of the embassy in Cairo (not the mention lying about the content of the statement).
However, after watching Mitten's presser today and reading the entire transcript (http://2012.presidential-candidates.org/?news=Gov.-Mitt-Romney%E2%80%99s-statement-on-the-Libya-consulate-attack-Full-Transcipt), I noticed that no one from the press corp actually questioned him on it.
Why is that? It was an open goal, and there were certainly a couple of aggressive reporters on the floor.
Am I missing something?

(76 posts)Indeed.
I suspect though, that the price of admission to the press conference was to ask no question along that line.
