CNNs Michaela Pereira destroys Trumps attack on Hillary: She is a woman, its not a card
CNN host Michaela Pereira on Monday fired back at Donald Trumps assertion that Hillary Clinton was playing the woman card because she has pointed out sexism on the campaign trail.
Over the weekend, Trump argued that it was fair to attack Bill Clinton since Hillary Clinton was mentioning sexism.
Jeffrey Lord, CNNs go-to Trump supporter, told Pereira that some women had been bullied by Hillary Clinton.
So yes, in fact, the issue is really Hillary Clinton and her treatment of women, Lord insisted.
Trump also accused Clinton of using the so-called womens card, Pereira noted. I wasnt issued one of those apparently. Why is mentioning the possibility of sexism on the campaign trail tantamount to Clinton calling the gender card?
She is going to play this card, Lord replied. Its an obvious card to play, lets be candid.
Is it? Pereira shot back. Is it a card? She is a woman, its not really a card.
Right, she is a woman, Lord stuttered. I mean, she is the woman going around saying isnt it time for a woman president.
A lot of people would say amen to that, Pereira observed.

NYT:
On Monday, Mr. Trump accused Mr. Clinton of having a terrible record of women abuse and warned that he would be a liability to her campaign.
If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the women's card on me, she's wrong!

The assault on Mr. Clintons character has been couched as a counterpunch. Mrs. Clinton said last week that Mr. Trump had a penchant for sexism after he said that she was doing disgusting things in the bathroom during the last Democratic presidential debate.
Over the weekend, Mr. Trump said that that Mrs. Clinton was playing the womans card and that her husbands sexual history would be fair game as the 2016 race ramped up. His presidency was really considered to be very troubled, to put it mildly, because of all of the things thats she talking to me about, Mr. Trump said Sunday on Fox News.

(41,832 posts)I guess he blames her for staying with him. I admire that myself. If you love the other person, it can be forgiven. A lot of women ( and men) do forgive and move on.
