Bernie Sanders Forces Donald Trump To Flip-Flop On Raising Wages
Author: Stephen D Foster Jr December 28, 2015 4:52 pm
Donald Trump was against raising wages for American workers, but changed his mind after Bernie Sanders took aim at the billionaire Republican.
On Sunday, Sanders slammed Trump on CBS Face The Nation by criticizing his stance on wages.
This is a guy who does not want to raise minimum wage, Sanders pointed out. In fact, he has said that wages in America are too high.
Indeed, during the Republican debate this past November, Trump specifically stated that wages are too high and suggested that Americans will just have to work harder if they dont want to struggle financially.
[T]axes too high, wages too high, were not going to be able to compete against the world. I hate to say it, but we have to leave [the minimum wage] the way it is, Trump said. People have to go out, they have to work really hard and have to get into that upper stratum. But we cannot do this if we are going to compete with the rest of the world. We just cant do it.
In fact, Trump is wrong about wages. States that have raised wages have actually seen faster job growth according to the Department of Labor.
*snip*
But Trump also suddenly changed his position on wages.
The middle-class has worked so hard, are not getting the kind of jobs that they have long dreamed of and no effective raise in years. BAD Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 28, 2015
Many of the great jobs that the people of our country want are long gone, shipped to other countries. We now are part time, sad! I WILL FIX!

Wages in are country are too low, good jobs are too few, and people have lost faith in our leaders. We need smart and strong leadership now! Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 28, 2015
So, Bernie Sanders just forced Donald Trump to start talking about the middle class while also forcing him to change his position on jobs and wages. I wonder what Trumps conservative extremist supporters will think of his flip. It certainly sounds like Trump is pulling a Mitt Romney. Hes definitely feeling the Bern.

(1,309 posts)1. Seems like Bernie is better than Hillary at handling Trump.
We are so used to being told about her great knowledge of facts, why was it she never dug this one out of that phenomenal treasure trove? Only two choices I see, she just did not remember or second she wants Donald to keep going providing someone easy to attack letting her and her supporters sell that lame excuse we gotta get behind Hillary because only she can win and the republicans are scary.
Bernie handled this one very well. Too bad for Hillary. She may have to actually start being compared to Bernie and that will be a disaster for her, a corporatist politician in a country declaring its independence from corporate control. Viva the new independence days, starting with New Hampshire! Go Bernie-together we can do it.
