2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumEvery MSM outlet covered Bernie's Wall Street plan today, no matter what
you might hear elsewhere.
Apparently some people think they'll support his cause by doing a lot of moaning and groaning about the MSM not reporting about Bernie; when the fact is, if they just bothered to go to Google News, they'd find stories aplenty.
Below are listed only the reports of TV stations, but there were many reports in the newspapers, too.

Bernie Sanders delivered a big speech in New York today on Wall Street and the economy arguably his signature issue and well have more on his remarks on tonights show.

(6,282 posts)For that matter, is picking up the AP story (automatically?) really the same?

(108,997 posts)The National NBC has a story, too.

(6,282 posts)If you'll observe, pnwmom cannot find a non-affiliate (i.e. national) NBC article. The only non-Associated Press (i.e. original reporting) story was from NBC New York, where it was a local story. See Post #9. I cannot find an NBC news story either, through googling.
In case you care for the facts here.

(108,997 posts)about the Wall Street plan getting no media coverage, when I easily found links to coverage in all the MSM outlets, except for one.
JonLeibowitz
(6,282 posts)I think a lot of the moaning and groaning was because of a lack of MSM nightly news coverage, which none of these are by the way. Perhaps those videos will be uploaded later. Until then, I reserve judgement on how the MSM treated this story.
edit: I see now ABC nightly news did cover them. No others I am aware of.
JonLeibowitz
(6,282 posts)And you'd expect them to cover that as local news btw.

(59,276 posts)The president announced a series of executive actions on guns. N Korea tested a hydrogen bomb and Vanilla ISIS is holed up in a federal building. But of course they all got together and timed it specifically to direct attention from a second place candidate's speech.

(35,619 posts)An article at the ABC News website doesn't mean a subject was on 'World News Tonight.'
An AP article at the NBC News website doesn't mean they talked about the subject on TV.
A blog post by Steve Benen for 'The Rachel Maddow Show' doesn't mean she talked about the subject on TV.

(9,522 posts)Why is that?
It isn't just Bernie supporters who talk about a media blackout, by the way. Van Jones, on This Week said on sunday there was a media blackout on Bernie.
He is getting much more coverage lately...could that be because the idiots in the media are waking up?

(12,685 posts)of Bernie Sander's speech. But hey, the continued coverage of the guy in the chair with the gun out in Oregon on the Lawrence O'Donnell show was just riveting.
I wonder if stuff like this is why O'Donnell is so gung ho about raising funds for desks in Africa - he's trying to atone for the role that he as a corporate controlled talking head is playing in destroying this county. Matthews was a particular piece of work last night.
The mind has the infinite capacity to rationalize - never were truer words spoken.

Grade-school-level errors like this don't inspire much confidence in the quality of their reportage.
Pitiful.

(8,976 posts)Is a Dec 23rd story on restricting payday lenders and postal banking. CNN link is invalid. Other 3 links go to internet stories. MSM coverage means BROADCAST-not post-it notes and internet memos. Nice try though...
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..

(35,619 posts)I agree though, that the links don't prove TV coverage.
Steve Benen of "The Rachel Maddow Show" may have expected TV coverage which didn't occur.
