(25,406 posts)Yes, I support Hillary, but it is totally clear to me that President Sanders would be every bit as strong on women's rights as Hillary would be. So why piss off all of those Sanders supporters?

(51,122 posts)Hillary is going to be our nominee and next President.
Why pretend otherwise?

(11,076 posts)This endorsement leads me to believe that they have found another source of revenue . I will take a break and put the funds to use on the home front. I don't care who they endorsed. For one hundred years they knew the right thing to do! It's not my turn do do the explaining.

This article was posted in the DU Bernie group: http://samuel-warde.com/2016/01/massive-online-backlash-after-planned-parenthood-endorses-hillary-clinton/
You might also read that group for additional comments.
I'm told that Reddit is ground zero for the operation.
The key question, however, is whether they were ever Planned Parenthood supporters, and you may well be right in positing they were not.
PP's overall donation losses and contributions will tell the story. Are they, as some Sanders supporters argue, losing overall contributions because of this? Perhaps. But they may also be making up for it through new donations from supporters of women's reproductive rights disgusted by the backlash.
I count myself in the latter category. While I have contributed to NARAL, I haven't before given money to Planned Parenthood (aside from fees paid while using their services). Part of that reason is that I only recently am in a financial position to give regularly, and PP hasn't knocked on my door like NARAL has. This event has prompted me to correct that oversight.

(80,708 posts)Personally, I've supported both orgs for years, and that won't change based upon any endorsements they give or don't give in this primary cycle.
Because whatever they do in that regard, it doesn't change their core mandate, which is why I support them. Not because I rely on them to tell me which candidate I should support in the Democratic Primary.

(7,231 posts)to reconsider. But not right now. The elite needs to stop foisting Third Way policies on us. PP's PAC has made itself part of the problem I am fed up with.
