2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf Hillary is the nominee, will the people excited about electing the first Jewish prez stay home?
I don't think so.
Nor do I think that people excited about electing first female president will stay home if Sanders is the nominee.
I do, however, think Clinton would draw a historically low number of independent votes and crossover Republican votes and, as a result, would lose against Rubio and (maybe) Cruz.
Sanders would draw more independent votes and crossover Republican votes and would win.

(45,851 posts)In fact some of my grandkids live in Texas and in my perfectly unbiased opinion they are indeed above average.
Of course my daughter will more than likely vote Republican so there's that, she's been quite successful financially.

Every year some of my old buddies tell me Texas is gonna turn Blue. The other ones tell me how great Ted Cruz is and how cool a theocracy would be.

(3,373 posts)Neither Clinton nor Sanders will carry Texas in the general election and we'll just have to wait and see how the primary plays out. I presume that Clinton will carry Texas unless there is a major shift on momentum but I also presume that there will be a major shift in momentum if Sanders exceeds expectations in Iowa and New Hampshire.
If Clinton under performs in 2 out of 3 states among Iowa, New Hampshire, and New Mexico, SuperTuesday will be interesting.
