Occupizza

In light of all the serious stuff going on, this perhaps seems dumb, but I will ask anyway. And Occupy has always had a sense of humor.
Does anyone know/remember what the "Occupie" pizza was at the original NYC Occupy? Was there a debate over vegan vs. meat? Was it decided that pizza sauce was NOT a vegetable? (o.k., I'm kidding here.)
Furthermore, would there be an "East Coast Occupie" vs. a "West Coast Occupie"?
I would expect the East Coast Occupie to be more traditional in its toppings, perhaps with extra cheese to help insulate one ferom the freezing winters.
The "West Coast Occupie" would be a bit more adventurous... perhaps with loads of salsa, peppers and for those with true grit, habenero sauce!
I am limited by time but will check back for replies between now and Monday... I want to be eating history making pizza Tuesday night!

P.S. - more or less cross posted from G.D. !

Hope I don't get "Pizzaed" for this!

1. Lol, did you mean the name of the Pizza Place that was delivering pizzas to Occupy

throughout the time they were in Zuccotti Park?

It is called Liberatos and the owner named a Pizza after the Occupiers, 'OccuPie'. I think we should start calling him again to deliver pizzas to the Occupiers who are helping out the victims of Sandy.

I don't know if they argued over what was on the OccuPie. But since it's the East Coast as you said, those pizzas were more traditional.

for being nice enough to answer my post. I posted this thread about Occupies

in G.D., where it sank like a Led Zepplin.

Guess I better get back to talking about the imperialist yellow running dog lackeys of the petit bourgeoise, who are implementing the metabolic rift of non-simultanety and reification in the conciousness of the proletariat.

Re the West Coast Occupie - I did find this...

"As hundreds of peaceful Occupy L.A. protestors welcome day three of the grassroots movement, their stomachs refrain from grumbling thanks to one word: pizza. Crooks and Liars, a widely-read liberal blog, added a PayPal button fundraiser on their site and has since raised $8,600 from 300 donors to feed the open mouths of Occupy protestors.

Crooks and Liars scours cities where the Occupy revolution is transpiring for local pizzerias that will support occupiers via solidarity pizza delivery. Rocket Pizza Lounge in L.A. has stepped up to the pie and delivered to activists at City Hall. “As long as people are out there sticking up for the 99 percent, I will be finding local pizzerias that deliver,” says Crooks and Liars Managing Editor Tina Dupuy."

Hell, a West Coast Occupie might not wear ANY TOPPINGS AT ALL! It might have delicious sweet meats and cheese baked right inside the beautiful golden brown crust!

Yeah, a lot of great pizza owners across the country were helping to feed the Occupiers, it was awesome. The only reason I mentioned the one in NYC is that it was the first and the owner was so good to them. Of course he probably did some great business as people from all over the world were calling and ordering pizzas for the Occupiers.
